TRANSMISSION 14.5 - JAE

After making Sungjin sleep with a bit of time control, I stormed out and went to look for Younghyun. I found him bent over his notes, his face creased.

"You slowed his heartbeat, didn't you?" He asked without looking up.

"Yeah. I just slowed his cells enough for him to get exhausted but not to the point of him not waking up. Why did you lose it, Younghyun? All we needed to do was to do as he said."

Younghyun slammed his fist on the table and glared at me. "How can you stand it? How can you stand this proximity with Sungjin without breaking down? I am trying to work out something for at least both of them to be happy but I can't find any loopholes."

"You won't find it no matter how much you look. Because this... This IS the loophole. The last one. Sungjin beat us to each and every one, remember? We just didn't factor in Wonpil... Man, if he wasn't such a pain in the ass, he'd be a great addition to the team," I sighed, rubbing my temples.

"You know I pulled you both out of the gifted class for a good reason, right?"

I shrugged.

"That last stunt you guys pulled caused such a ripple in the threads, how did you contain it within the multiverses?"

"A great deal of sacrifice... And outside help. Leave it, Younghyun, you looked as if you haven't eaten yet and you smell like you haven't bathed for three days-"

"Two days and a half -"

"My point is, let's go grab something to eat and maybe have you take a shower, and do everything again tomorrow. But I think the Sungjin in this multiverse is gonna be a lot more difficult to handle and he doesn't even remember anything." I stood up, stretched, and glanced at Younghyun and added, "So... Good luck to us and how we'll drive the story to the ending Sungjin has in mind."
