DESCRIPTION

Ellie Williams. A girl who's lost everyone who's ever loved her, except for Joel. She knows about his past with his daughter, Sarah, and she knows it gets to him sometimes. Even four years after the fireflies couldn't help her, she still deals with the weight on her shoulders of not being able to save the world. And now that she's found out the truth about the fireflies, Ellie feels even more alone. Feeling like she can't trust Joel, she takes a mission from Maria to get away from it all. So, in August, she sets off to patrol, alone. She knows it's a bad idea, but she can't trust anyone anymore.

Willow Green. After the Rattlers had made the mistake of setting her tie on the pole near the shore too loose, she ran. They were new, only around twenty of them were part of the group, and they were constantly challenged by the scars. They were getting stronger, but they still only kept to the coast of Santa Barbara. Willow managed to steal a boat, and she finally got to the shore. She didn't know how long she'd been walking, finding other survivors and grabbing their food before leaving the next morning. With her hair finally growing back, and the weight of being a slave gone, she set up camp on the edge of Wyoming. Waiting for the day when she could provide for herself without stealing from others like her.
