As I lay down on my bed

The sun shining through the window

Waiting for a peaceful afternoon sleep

My mind couldn't help but wander

How sating it is to be without worry

Peace and tranquility all around

Needs and wants satisfied

Pains and anguish forgotten

What it would take

To be this peaceful

All day long

But life has its gallops

Only contentment makes it worthwhile

A air plane hovers

Leaving behind its trailing noise

Cars horn far far ahead

The wailing siren,

Signaling the passage of a royalty

Tick-tock,

The clock ticks

All is naught

But a sweet distraction

All I did was lay on the bed

Waiting endlessly

For a sleep that never came.
