Sitting in the darkest corner of my heart
I mourn my happiness as it fades away
Like a doused out candle
My throat in my hands
Muffling the screams
As hot tears run down my face
Like two slithering snakes in a race
Struggling to keep the pace
Overwhelmed by the wrenching pain
Smothered by the stinging tears
I want it all to stop
Screaming out loud
Bringing the roof down with each outlet
Panting in throes of a panic
Its all in my head
For I am in the darkest corner of my heart.
