Avengers Guarded

Ch. 3 "Info"

                                                      Tony POV 

I watched security footage from across the street of the warehouse, I was in and waited, and waited and waited, 

Finally at 3Am Cody walked out, with a backpack on her shoulder, she walked down the street, I followed her with the security footage, 

after about three hours she is at the University, that Is the top university in the state, I thought, 

"Hmm," I thought 

I hacked into the school files while Clint and Nat were hovering behind me, 

"Do you two mind?" I asked 

"Sorry," Clint said 

I looked through every file, my eyes were getting tired, it was about four hours when Finally, 

"There!" I said making everyone jump

Everyone was hovering now, It showed a picture of Cody, 

"Cody Rory, graduated Midtown High school, at ten years old, top of her class, in her third year of college, Is studying science," I said 

"Straight A's" I said 

"Kid is smart," Nat said I nodded, 

"First place in the state science fair, since she was four," I said 

"Kid is really smart," I said 

I looked up her state file, 

"Looks like she works at a downtown Diner,"I said 

"She scheduled for a shift tonight, you guys up for dinner tonight," I asked 

"Sure," Everyone said 

                                     Cody POV 

I walked out of School, walking to work, for my twelve hour shift, since my step father needs someone's money to spend on booze and drugs, 

I walk into work, with a blank face, I walk into the back, putting the apron on, and the note pad, I stuff my book bag in the locker, 

and Walked out to get ready for a crazy shift, the hours rush finally slowed down after a few hours, I was in the back room braiding my hair to the side, 

When I heard the door ding, I walked out from the back, I looked at the clock, when Dave walked over to me, 

"Table six is requesting you," He said 

I arched my brow, 

"You must know people in high places for them to come here," He said 

I looked at him confused but walked over to the table to see Not just Tony but the avengers, I take a frustrated breath, and finish walking over to the table, 

"Mr. Stark," I said blankly 

"Cody," He said smirking 

"Are you following me now?" I said 

"No, I just wanted to formally thank you, have to say I'm quite impressed," He said 

"It wasn't anything important, you needed help so I helped," I said 

"You and I both know it was more than that, not many people can fix an arc reactor," He said 

I tried diverting the conversation, 

"Are you going to order something, because I'm kinda busy working," I said 

"Well that is why I'm here, I want you to come work for me," Tony said 

"Pass," I said 

You see that would be a dream come true but I've learned my lesson on taking a job without telling my Stepdad about it, 

I got a job offer to work as an intern for a specialized science university, so when I excepted it without asking, 

He beat me so bad that he broke three of my ribs and fractured my collar bone, 

I went to walk away, but his hand wrapped around my wrist, 

"Mr Stark do you mind," I said 

"Come on most people would love to work for me," He said 

"Well I'm not most people," I said yanking my wrist out of his grip, 

As we were talking my phone rang, 

I looked at the number, 

"Excuse I have to take this," I said 

I walked away into the back, 

"Hello," I said 

"Is this Cody Rory?" The voice said 

"Yes," I said 

"This is Stacy at mercy hospital, your mother has seemed to have a reaction to one of her treatments I suggest you come right away," She said 

"I'll be there in a few minutes," I said 

I hung up taking off the apron taking my bag out of my locker, I rushed out of the back, 

"David I have to go something went wrong at the hospital," I said in a panic 

He nodded, 

"Of course go," He said 

I nodded rushing out of the dinner, I ran as fast as I could to the hospital, please be okay, I thought 

                                      Tony POV 

I watched as Cody talked to her manager in a panic he nodded and she sprinted out of the dinner, 

"I'm following her," I said 

They all arched their brow, and that's what I did seeing her run as fast as I could, I see Cody cross the street without looking and I see a car speed towards her, 

"Look out!" I said tackling her so she wouldn't get hit,

She looked up at me in shock,
