The Return Of The Pandavas

"Duryodhan gave me a kingdom..and I gave him back almost all the kingdoms of Aryavrat in return...he saved me from humiliation, and I saved him from humiliating himself by preventing Draupadi's disrobing....Hence, I have nothing to give him and he cannot blackmail me to take his side..." Karna told his wife, who nodded in approval. 

"Yes, Arya...and a king does not need crown or palace to rule a kingdom..." Vrushali cried and continued

"If Prince Duryodhan blackmails you...then.."

"No Vrushali...he cannot convince me to stay in his side...because he knows I am a Kshatriya now..not a sutputr anymore..I have right on Kuntibhoj, because the king had only one child, my mother..." Karna uttered and continued

"It's time for the Pandavas' return..."

"Mamashree...we had to send them back to the forest...but we failed in finding them..." Duryodhan shouted throwing things here and there.

"Relax, my child...After Digvijay yatra of Karn. we are sure we will win the war if it occurs and you will be the king...." Shakuni chuckled

"I will have to get Karn's children kidnapped or murdered..." Shakuni thought as he wandered in the corridors of the palace of Hastianapur. Karna loved his children and his wife very much. They were his weaknesses...and of course, Radha and Adirath were in Hastinapur too.

But Shakuni's plans were almost worthless, when he thought Bhishm would protect Adirath and Radha.

He had to think of another way, to blackmail Karna to take their side to win the war. 

Karna's Kavach-Kundal were indestructible, and it had the ability to swallow even Brahmastra into it. Shakuni knew that Mahamahim Bhishm would anytime give up his life for the sake of Pandavas.  Mahamahim could not be trusted. Guru Dronacharya would take their side till Aswatthama wished to be in their side. 

Shakuni was well aware that King Drupad had performed a yagnya from which Drishtadyumn emerged, with the sole aim of finishing off Dronacharya. Now Drona's life was not sure too. 

Only Karna was the person who won over the whole of Aryavrat single handed. Even if all the kings fight him together, he would defeat them effortlessly. Karna had to take their side, somehow, and Shakuni now began to target Karna in his mastermind.

"Duryodhan, Karna should be on our side...we have no personal hatred towards him...he is confused himself...we have to help him out...and I have a plan..." Shakuni told Duryodhan. But he was having vengeance inside his heart against Karna.

The Pandavas returned to Indraprasth, with rage evident in their eyes, and the urge for punishing the Kauravas had increased manifold, during the thirteen year exile.

"We have to head for Anga..." Yudhistir declared 

"Yes...we have to ask Brother Karn to take our side..." Nakul cried

"We are eager to meet Bratha Karn's sons.." Sahadev said smiling.

"And I have to confront him for the Digvijay Yatra.." Draupadi said

The Pandavas along with Draupadi headed towards Angdesh, to meet Karna

"Why did you give away the kingdoms you won during war, Arya?.." Draupadi asked

"Have you forgotten your promise? You told me that you will do justice..."

"Duryodhan knows I am the eldest child of Mata Kunti..." Karna declared ignoring Draupadi. 

The Pandavas were shocked to hear this.

"What?" they uttered in chorus.

Karna nodded and turned to Draupadi,

"But he doesn't know that we are married...can I tell him about our marriage?" Karna asked permission from Draupadi

She was impressed. He had considered her will too. 

"But what about their Karma?..."

Karna smiled,

"Will hit them back soon..."

"Angraj, you have recieved a letter..." and man came and handed him a scroll

Karna turned to him and opened the scroll, and read the contents. He chuckled and asked Yudhistir to read the letter,

"The Kingdom of Hastinapur invites you for a....Dice Game?" Yudhistir asked shocked

This time they had managed to pull Karna into the trap.

"Bratha...please do not accept the offer..." Arjun pleaded

"It is my dharm...isn't it?" Karna asked the five brothers

The brothers looked at each other

Yudhistir nodded

"Yes...bratha...a king should not decline an invitation..."  Yudhistir cried lowering his eyes down

"We know that Mamashree is upto is bad tricks again..."

"The game began thirteen years ago...the game will end now..." Karna smiled

"But bratha...we know that he would use the same things again...history will repeat itself again..." Arjun cried, confused

Karna had other plans in his mind. He readily agreed to the dice game, shocking the Pandavas.
