"Isn't that too much to ask?"  Yamraj looked at his younger brother, stroking his buffalo.

"You can take my father-in-law Maharaj Drupad instead..." Karna winked at him and continued

"He's equal to a hundred people...split personality disorders...it seems..."

"You are going against the laws of nature, Karn...Let me do my duty..." Yamraj turned around

"Fine fifty?" Karn asked as his elder brother frowned

"Okay...forty?"

"Umm...thirty?"

"twenty?..."

After a prolonged silence...

"Five...? How about five Pandavas and five Kauravas?" He asked

"Really ?" Yamraj asked crossing his hands over his chest and continued

"Can I call our brother Lord Shani who gives punishments and blessings according to their Karma? Death was the best punishment...."

"Exactly...they've got their punishment...but won't they get another chance to live?" Karna questioned

"I don't write destiny, Karn...I'm stuck to the nature...even The Almighty follows rules of nature...you're just a demigod...I know...both you and Arjun have the ability to rule all the worlds with your archery skills...but there's something called dharma. I am following my dharma...even death is not in my hands...I just take away lives according to the Almighty's wish. Whatever happened was a lesson to the whole humanity. Whoever disrespects women will not be spared and they do not deserve to live...If I help in resurrection, people following the wrong path will confidently resort to commit crime knowing well that they would be resurrected...I'm sure it is your guilt that has brought you here..." Yamraj said

"But...Mata Gandhari...."

"No pain is equal to what Draupadi experienced in the sabha...only we know how her soul was shattered to the core..."

"But they've all died and they're just purifying their souls! But I know...I'm wrong here...how about at least 1 Kaurava brother?"

"Fine...choose wisely..."

Karn thought for a while and came to a conclusion,

"I choose Vikarn..." he said

Yamraj was impressed with his choice.

"But why?"

"Because he tried stopping Duryodhan from committing a sin..."

"Why didn't you choose Duryodhan instead...?"

"It's because I failed to be a good friend...I failed to give him the required knowledge...and if I try to resurrect him, it would be an injustice to his soul that had chosen to pay for the crimes he had done...he died, punishing himself, he let his brothers die, punishing his brothers in the end. But Vikarn is worth living..."

"Tathastu..." Yamraj said touching Karn's head

Gandhari was overwhelmed seeing her only son back. She hugged him and stroke his forehead with tears in her eyes.

"Having one good son is better that having hundreds of evil kids..." Yudhistir muttered, with happiness in his tone.

"I'm sorry for whatever happened, Bhratashree..." Vikarn touched Yushistir's and Draupadi's feet as an apology.

"I declare Maharaj Yudhistir as the King of the whole Aryavrat...!" Karn announced

"But putr..."

"I'm okay with Anga..." He smiled at his mothers who were standing in front of him.

"I've promised them that I wouldn't leave them alone at any cost..." Karn cried

Though Vikarn was resurrected, everyone presumed that he was just cured. No one knew about his resurrection.

A few years later,

A group of people had gathered around a tree discussing the most important topic that had spread the Aryavrat.

"Isn't Angraj Karn selfish? Rajkumar Duryodhan gave him Anga  but he? He killed all his brothers...!" a man voiced out

"I agree! I mean...he is more cunning than Shakuni..." another person exclaimed

"Really? Do you know he did the Digvijay yatra? He's just capable of doing things...you guys are just jealous of him..." the third man spoke up

"He lied to Lord Parashuram to learn archery...he is just a cheat...he said he was a brahmin..."

"Angraj Karn was abandoned when he was just a baby...is it his fault? What's wrong in a Kshatriya trying to learn archery?"

"Why is no one talking about Samragini's humiliation? Only Angraj was the man who protected her...in fact, he was the only man in that sabha..."

"He had married her secretly...and that woman had kept it secret from her husbands...what a shame!"

"You talk as if you have observed everything being closer to them...no one knows what happened..."

" At least now we know..."

"I blame Angraj Karn for the fights between the Kauravas and Pandavas...he was indeed the third person who interfered..."

"Mind your words...He is the eldest son of Rajmatha Kunti..."

"Even that woman had secrets...do not blame Danveer Karn...no one is as compassionate as him..."

"Don't you guys have any work to do?" A man questioned loud, silencing the crowd.

"We are worried about the Dharma system..."

"Leave it to the king..." the young man winked folding his arms.

" This is a major issue...how can we overcome it?..." another woman chirped in, to take a closer look at the handsome young boy in front of him. The boy seemed like a shepherd from the nearby hills that bordered Angadesh.

"Why should we overcome it?" The young man chuckled sitting under the tree and he continued

"You guys please go there and discuss whatever you want to...I've lots of work to do!" He lied down

An old man who had been observing the young guy who had come out of nowhere slowly spoke up,

"Enough of the discussion..."

The other people had to comply the old man's order. The elder was impressed with the young man's witty comeback, which was not understood by most of the people.

"I'll sleep and give my brain some rest instead of gossiping..." The boy muttered

"This will continue for many years..." The elder chuckled

"For yugas and yugas..." the man said looking at the fruits hanging from the tree. He continued,

"Why should I waste my time in wondering who is right and who is wrong...I'm right...I'm harmless...that's all in my hands...I'm happy..."

The old man smiled and asked,

"My child, what is your name?"

The young man replied,

"Vrishaketu..."
