"Jace!" I heard a woman called out from downstairs.

"Oh fuck.." Jace said, putting his hand through his hair.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"My mom," he said, clenching his defined jaw.

I sigh. "Do I have to hide?"

He nodded. "Yes."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Alright, I'm going to the closet."

I got up and walked slowly to the closet.

"I'm kidding. My mom doesn't care," he said.

"So you have girls over all the time..." I stated.

He nodded. "Yah. That's who I am."

The door opened.

"Ja- oh, hello," the woman said.

"Hi," I waved with a smile.

"Uh, mom, this is my girlfriend, Janice," Jace told his mom.

"Girlfriend?" She asked.

I took out my hand and she shook it.

"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Rivers," I said.

"Oh, call me, Fiona. You make me feel old," she laughed.

"You are old, mom," Jace said. "I'm kidding. Do you mind?"

She released my hand. "Yeah, sorry. I'll just let you teenagers have your fun. No, not when your father and I are home."

"Step, you mean," Jace apparently corrected.

"Right," Fiona said. "Oh, school ended already, huh."

"Yeah, like 10 minutes ago," Jace told her.

"I knew it. You always-"

"Bye mom."

She left us alone.

"I like your mom, she's cool," I told Jace.

"Yeah, but she can get a little, y'know, mom-ish," he said.

"Well, you're lucky you still got a mom," I said. "I don't."

He got up. "I'm sorry."

I sat down on his bed and he sat down next to me.

"It's alright. You didn't know," I said. "She got in a car accident. You know, the usual."

"You still got your dad right?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yup, but he's hardly home," I told him. "Business trips around the world."

"Oh, that sucks. I don't get to see my dad," he said.

"Yeah. So your mom's re-married?"

He nodded. "Yeah. And I don't like him."

"Then how come you don't live with your dad?" I asked.

"Well, we're in L.A, and he's in Maine."

"Ohhh... that's far," I said. "Like, really far."

"Yup. Parents."

We spent the next hour talking and talking. Then I got a text, from Addison.

She text, 'Where'd u go, gurl?'

'Soz, ditched w/ Jace,' I tell her.

'Ou, y'all gettin' down & dirty? (;'

"Who are you texting?" Jace asked, stopping Addi and I's conversation.

"Just, Addison," I told him. "My best friend.."

"You tell her everything, huh?"

"That's what best friends are for."

--------------------

Everybody's gaze was on me and Jace. Like, seriously people? Do you have anything else to stare at besides us? It was annoying the hell out of me.

"Relax," Jace said, trying to calm me down.

"What is wrong with them?" I said, harshly.

"I don't date, that's what."

"Yeah, I know that!"

"Ou, you guys together already?" Addi asked.

"I'll tell the deats later, kay?" I said to her.

She looked confused. "Uh, okay?"

Jace nudged me. "9am."

"What about it?" I asked.

"Janitor's closet," he smirked.

"What about it?" I repeated the question.

He whispers in my ear, "I always have sex on Tuesday's in the closet."

"Not with me, you are." I crossed my arms.

He put his hands up in surrender. "Ou, feisty. Whatever you say, babe."

"Okay, really? 'Babe'?" I asked.

"Janice," he corrected.

At the end of the school day, we went straight to my house. By 'we', I mean Addi and I. Jace had somewhere to be.

"YOU WHAT?!" Addi exclaimed.

"I had sex with Jace?" I said in a question.

"NO! THE OTHER PART!"

"Okay, this conversation is acting like the other one," I stated. "What is wrong with that?"

"You don't know what you got yourself into, Janice!"

"You convinced me to have sex with him in the first place, Addi," I told her.

"Yeah! But I didn't think you were going to do this!"

"Whatever," I said. "It seems fun."

"Don't get your hopes up too fast, because once you fall for him, you won't get back up," she told me. "You're gonna be cryi-"

I put my hand up. "Stop. He's going to lose."

That hour, Jace called and told me that he was coming over. I told him my address and Addi left.

I kept thinking about what Addi said. 'Once you fall for him, you won't get back up.' I have that replaying in my mind for the past hour now.

The doorbell rang and I went downstairs to go answer it.

"Dad.." I said.

"Hey sweetie," he said the closed the door behind him.

"What are you doing back so early?" I asked him.

"Well, I miss my daughter."

"Yeah, dad, I miss you too."

The door opened. "Hey, Janice, you forgot to lock the do- Oh, hey."

My dad turned around. "Hello. You are..?"

"Jace," I answered, stopping Jace to reply back to him. "He's my.. boyfriend."

"Oh, hello, Jace," Dad said.

"Hello Mr. Crawford," Jace said then took out his hand.

Dad shook it then released.

"Please, call me Jacob," Dad said.

"Alright dad, Jace and I are going upstairs in my room to study," I told him. "You trust me right?"

"Yeah," he nodded.

"Okay.." I grabbed Jace's hand and we went upstairs. That was awkward..
