"Is there something wrong with you?" I asked.

He gave me a confused look. "What?"

I pushed him back.

"We aren't a real couple. Remember that," I said, tapping his head.

"Let's go to the fair."

I am not falling for his tricks.

We got to the fair. Or amusement park, whatever you want to call it.

I squealed then Jace turned around to look at me.

"What?" he asked.

"That!" I said, pointing to the ride.

He groaned. "Oh, please don't tell me that you want to ride the ferris wheel.."

"Nope!" I said. "I hate ferris wheels, they are boring as fuck."

"Agree."

"I'm talking about that!" I squealed.

"The power tower?" He asked.

"Yes!!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!!"

"Let's go," he said.

We got in a line and somebody bumped into me.

"Hey! Watch where you're goi- Freddy?!" I exclaimed.

He looked at me. "Janice?!"

"Hi!" I said, while giving him a hug. We released.

"Uh.. Fred, this is my.. boyfriend, Jace," I said. "and Jace, this is my childhood friend, Freddy or Fred."

"Hi," Fred said.

"Hey," Jace said.

"Alright.. Who are you here with, Fred?" I asked.

"With my girlfriend," he replied.

"Oh! Where is she?"

Fred looked over my shoulder. "She's right there." He pointed.

The girl came over and it was..

"Dina?!" I exclaimed. "Sorry. Dina?"

"Oh! Janice and Jace! Hi!" She said.

"You all know each other?" asked Freddy.

"Yeah, Jace and Dina are exes," I said.

"Oh.. that's weird, because.. we're exes."

"You're what?" Jace asks.

"Anyways.. let's go!"

Jace whispered in my ear, "You better not be planning on kissing him."

I chuckled. "I won't. But, I mean I would. I would love to see your reaction."

After the power tower ride, I was getting hungry.

"Can we eat?" I asked.

"Don't you wanna ride any more rides?" He asked.

"No, I'm hungry and tired."

"Okay, what do you want to eat?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. Just anything edible."

"Hey, guys, we're gonna go on more rides. We ate before riding," Dina said.

"Bad idea," I mumbled.

"Wanna taco?" He asked.

"Sure. But no.."

"A burger?"

I shook my head.

"Uh.. ice cream?"

"I don't want any sweets right now."

"Then what do you want?" he asked. "What do you feel like eating?"

I looked at a girl and a guy who was eating a hot dog.

"Hot dog!" I shotted.

"You can have that later tonight," Jace said.

I hit him and shoved him. "Jace! You're so inappropriate! There are kids here!"

He was laughing and I was hitting him.

"Shut up!" I yelled.

He continued laughing and I just walked.

Ugh, he's so annoying.

I turned around and couldn't see or find Jace anywhere. The crowd was busy and and big. Where is he?

There, I saw a guy with a black leather jacket, that was what Jace was wearing. I tapped on his shoulder and he turned around. Ooops, not Jace.

"Sorry," I said.

I turned around awkwardly and the guy grabbed my hand.

"You go to Southwood right?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yeah.. why?" I answered.

"Oh, I graduated from there last year. Remember me?"

I looked at him. He had dark brown shaggy hair, it was a hot mess. Deep blue ocean eyes.

"... you're..." I started.

"Keep going," he said.

"Paul?"

"No."

"Uh.. Richard?"

"Yes!" He said. "But I prefer Rich or Richie."

"Right! You're Richie," I said. "You were my partner in chemistry."

"Yeah, we got an A+," he said, smiling, showing his white teeth.

"Who are you with?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm here with a couple of friends," he replied. "How about you?"

"With my boyfriend," I said. "and.. I lost him."

"Oh, well, did you bring your phone?"

I touched all my pockets on my pants

"Shit, no.." I said.

"You can use my phone," he offered.

I smiled and nodded.

He took out his phone and handed it to me.

I dial Jace's number.

"Hello?" He answered. "Who's this?"

"It's Janice, calling from Richie's phone," I told him.

He ignored what I said and ask, "Where are you?"

I looked around. "Back at the power tower."

"Oh, so you just wandered off to go ride the power tower again, didn't you?"

"No, I was annoyed by you," I told him.

"Stay there. I'm coming," he said.

I hung up and handed the phone back to Richie.

"Thanks, I said.

He smiled. "No problem. Who's your boyfriend? Does he go to Southwood?"

"Yes, he does-"

"Ah, there you are," Jace said, grabbing my hand and intertwining it together.

"Hello Rich," he said.

"Jace's your boyfriend?" He exclaimed.

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Do you know how he is?" He asked.

"Hey, you shouldn't talk about me while I'm here," Jace said.

"Right," Richie said then dragged me over to him and turned me.

"You can not-"

"She's my girlfriend, not yours," Jace said, grabbing my hand. "Let's go."
