Jace's POV:

"Hey, how are you holding up?" Dina ask.

I sucked in the cigarette. "I don't know."

"Well, one," she said. "you need to stop smoking."

She took the cigarette out of my hand and threw it on the ground, then stepping on it.

"Hey!"

She put her hands on her hips. "You gotta catch her."

"She's isn't a fish," I told her.

She rolled her eyes at me. "I know, Jace. What I meant is that-"

I put my hands up infront of her. "I know what you mean, Dina."

She clasped her hands together. "Good. Now go."

"Go where?"

"To her house. Or wherever she's living."

"She's taking her time," I told her.

"Oh.. yeah, she needs time to think if she wants to date you. Right," she said. "Don't go yet then."

"I asked her to prom though."

"Really?" She exclaimed. "What'd she say?"

"She said yes. Even though I'm not the type to go, I'll do it for her because she seems like the one."

"Yeah, whatever. You just asked her because you wanted something after," she accused.

"Sure," I said. "whatever."

Janice's POV:

"Jace asked you to prom?" Addison exclaimed.

I nodded. "Yeah.."

"Did you say yes?"

"Yeah.."

"Oh my god, we need to go dress shopping!" She squealed.

I groaned. "Ugh, can't I just walk into the room with a onesie on?"

"No you cannot!" she scolded. "We have to go!"

"Fine." I groaned.

We went into Forever 21.

"There aren't any good dresses here!" Addi complained.

"Let's go to Charlotte then," I said.

"Charlotte?" she asked. "Oh, yeah, Charlotte Ruse."

"Come on-"

Oh my god. I saw this really cute dress hanging on the rack infront of me.

I quickly ran to it and grabbed it. It was a black tube dress and it was above the knees.

I showed Addi the dress.

"We aren't going to a funeral," she said.

"I'm offended," I told her. "I like it, I want it, I have to have it!"

"Alright, whatever. Go try it on."

I went to the dressing room and tried it on. Wow. It looked perfect.

I came out and Addi's mouth dropped open.

"You.. look flawless!" she squealed.

"Ahh! I love it!" I screamed.

"We're buying you that," she said.

"I need a pair of black shoes!"

"Hahaha," she laughed.

"What?" I ask.

"At first, you didn't want to go shopping. Now you're all like, ahh, oh my gosh, blah, blah."

"Hey! I'm very picky when it comes to clothes," I said.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go find shoes for you."

After hours and hours of shopping for clothes, we decided to get some lunch.

"I'm so excited to wear this to prom!" Addi squealed.

"Same," I said. "I guess."

I got a pair of black heels. Addi got a white off the shoulder dress that was above the knees. Since she hates heels, she got a pair of gladiators. I told her that we aren't going to a wedding, or it wasn't her wedding and she rolled her eyes.

"Let me ask you," she said staring at me in the eye.

"What...?" I ask nervously.

What is she going to ask?

"Are you.. are you playing hard to get?" she asks.

"What?" I answered. "No.."

"Are you sure? Because I know you like Jace."

"Yeah, as a friend," I told her. "We're just friends. Really good, close friends."

"I know that, Janice. But you should give him a chance. Another, real one," she told me.

"I-"

"You are so stubborn and complicated," she complained. "Admit it."

I rolled my eyes at her and ordered.

-------------------------

"Oh my fucking gosh!" squealed Addison. "Prom's tomorrow! How crazy is that?!"

I fake chuckled. "Yeah.. pretty, pretty crazy." I guess.

"Stop being so fake."

I look at her. "What? Excuse me?"

She sigh. "No, not like that, Janice. You're being boring. You're pretending you care and shit."

I said, "I'm sorry, Addi. I'm just-"

"-trying to figure out if I like him or not," she finished.

"Yeah..." I snapped my fingers.

"Well.. I don't really have anything to say but this."

"What is it?" I ask.

"Just.. follow your heart," she told me.
