Chapter 9- Tried to love him

"I'm going to try loving-g you... " He spoke as my heartbeat fastened 

"I'm going to... make this marriage work" He whispered 

"Mr. Kim-m" I tried to get up but he pulled me more closer 

"I'm trying to love you... why can't you?" He spoke looking straight into my eyes which were hard to look at and lie 

"This was... all an act right? We never loved... each other" I spoke 

"But, now... I'm trying... why can't you?" He asked to which I didn't have an answer. Seeing my silence, he let out a chuckle before saying

"Your heart wants to but your mind is not ready to..." He said before giving a slight peck on my cheeks. He loosened the grip around my waist, as I finally got up and he did too

"I'm going-g to-o go" I said trying to escape but he caught me by wrist and pulled me towards him making me sit on his lap and rested his face in my crook of my neck

"Mr. Kim-m..."

"Shh... Let's try to love each other.. hmm?" He asked and before I could reply he lets go off me and left the room leaving me dumbfounded 

"What was that?" 

[Time skip: Next day, Meeting room]

"Han group is suffering loss as their shares prize is decreasing day by day. So, I would suggest that it would be better to stop partnership with them rather than suffering from loss" I suggested while presenting the stats 

"I agree with Y/n" One of my colleague said

"I agree too" Another colleague said and slowly everyone agreed and now we were waiting for the final judgement from our ice cold boss and my so-called husband, Mr. Kim

"Mr. Kim, what do you think?" One of them asked him who was busy going through the papers

"No, we won't withdraw our shares" Mr. Kim said making everyone confused

"What do you mean, Mr. Kim?" I asked on behalf of everyone

 "Han group isn't a big group like ours. Their current situation will cause all the share holders to withdraw their shares but in that case, if we don't do the same, they will trust us more and maybe, we'll gain much profit too?" He said leaving everyone shocked. How does he gets such an idea!?

"But sir, what about our losses?" One of the colleague asked

"We don't have much invested, and our company is big enough to cope up with such small losses" He said as everyone started clapping at the idea

"Meeting dismissed" Mr. Kim announced as everyone started leaving the meeting room leaving behind me and Mr. Kim. I was busy arranging stuffs while Mr. Kim kept going through the documents

"That was really clever of you" I said making him look at me

"That was just a reply of what I was taught" He replied as I nodded 

"Y/n"

"Yes, sir?"

"Let's have lunch together" He spoke all of a sudden. This was the first time, he ever asked this

"Sure-e" I replied trying not to stutter but failed

He walked down the corridor to the cafeteria while I followed him behind

"Slow down you, will you!?" I mumbled finding it difficult to run with this high heels 

"I'm walking quiet slower for you to cope with up" I heard him say as my eyes widened

"You heard everything?" I asked biting my lips in nervousness

"Yes, now take a seat. I'll order something" He said went towards the Cafeteria while I searched for empty seats. Finally, I found two seats by the window. Looking around the window, I was busy watching an advertisement displayed outside that I didn't realize when Mr. Kim had already came with the food and stuffs. I was brought back to reality when he said

"What are you looking at?" 

"See that, there's a new drive-in theatre opened somewhere around here" I said pointing at the advertisements displayed outside

"Drive-in? Why go there when you can watch movies at the theatre" He replied

"That's why you will never understand. You are anti-romantic" I said

"Excuse me?!" He said back quiet offended 

"What? Drive-in theatres are romantic. You have no idea about it. Anyways, let's eat" I said before digging in the food while Mr. Kim was lost in thoughts

"Me? and anti-romantic?" Taehyung thought

"Mr. Kim, why aren't you eating?" I asked bringing him back to reality

"Huh? Nothing" He said before taking a bite of his sandwich

[Time skip: 8pm]

"Mr. Kim, we should leave too. I finished everything you asked for and everyone has already left" I suggested 

"Yes, just one minute" He said with his eyes still glued to the laptop screen

"Sure, sir. I'll just wait outside-" I was about to leave when he said

"No, sit here" He said patting his thighs. I swear my eyes would pop out any time

"Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like that I asked for your kidney or something" He said as I immediately looked away 

"Y/n, you're my wife and I'm your husband. This is much should be common for us" He said seeing my hesitating state

"It's not that..."

"It's okay if you don't want to-"

"No!" I replied immediately as he chuckled at my reaction 

Walking towards him, I sat on his lap while he continued doing his work. He wrapped one of his arms around my waist pulling me more closer to him as I rested my head on his chest. The words he said earlier echoed in my mind. "My heart wants to but my mind isn't ready", somewhere I felt like that's exactly what's happening. My heart flutters when he's around me but my mind shrugs it off. 

"Doesn't it feel like..." He said breaking the silence as I looked up at him with a confusion expression

"What does it feel like?" I asked 

He closed his laptop and made me face him. He starred into my eyes before saying,

"Doesn't it feel like our secret office romance?"
