Chapter 10 - It has always been you

*Inside Liam's Car*

Claire Kinsley's POV

"So what's for dinner?" Liam asked as he drives.

I stuck my finger up against my lips and pondered hard over what to serve for dinner.

After much consideration, I finally made up my mind, "A steak meal it shall be!"

"I sure do look forward," Liam replied as his eyes twinkled.

Damn... He kind of look cute when he does that with his eyes.

Oh shit... wait... what the hell am I thinking? Eew, no, no, no.

"Alright, we are here," Liam parked the car and I jumped out of the car and grabbed the nearest trolley from me.

"Are you that lazy?" Liam asked.

I glee in delight as I replied him upfront, "Yea, in fact, I'm too lazy to even walk over from here to Walmart."

I had one of my foot stepped onto the bottom of the trolley while I grabbed onto the handle. I turned around to Liam and requested, "The usual one please."

"Are you serious? Do you even know how old you are now?" Liam asked me with an incredulous look.

"Come on...Take me for a spin now!" I bugged him.

He looked at me square in the face before he rubbed his forehead in embarrassment and gave in to me.

"Weee! Off we go!" I squealed in exhilaration as I balanced both of my feet onto the bottom of the trolley while Liam pushed the trolley from behind me.

We used to do this many years back then when we were still teenagers, it was a cheap thrill that I forced Liam to do so for me.

"Second aisle, right turn, please!" I finally got to command at Liam when we were at Walmart picking up groceries. Thankfully he couldn't see my victorious smirk from behind me.

"Are you sure we can finish these?" Liam asked, seemingly concern about the pile of food that I have bagged into the trolley.

I turned around and stuck out my tongue playfully, "Of course!"

I almost forgot how much fun it can be to do grocery shopping with Liam, I did felt glad that we are doing this again.

Suddenly, a kid came running out from the turn in front of us and that freaked me out as we were so close into crashing onto him.

"Stop!!" I yelled to alert Liam.

We managed to prevent the collision but the sudden halt threw me off balance from the trolley and I ended up falling back onto Liam.

"I got you!" Liam held me by my shoulders and that saved me from the fall.

I swear the swoon of his musky scent was just so... alluring.

"Are you okay?" Liam asked.

I steadied my stance and swallowed a lump down my throat before I replied to him, "Yea... Yea, I'm alright."

"I think it's time you get on your feet and walk," Liam said.

"Okay... I will..." I rolled my eyes at him before I walked off ahead of him.

Then my eyes sparkled upon the sight of my favourite snack, beef jerky!

I reached out my hands and was ready to grab a pack of it but Liam slapped my hand off as he snapped at me sternly, "Nope, that's too unhealthy."
