Incipit
The irregular reverberation
Of the drum-heart beating
As the fuel-tank lies vacant
Suppose, for a moment, it was you...

Suppose yours was the aching
Of a worn-out body
Home to a worn-out soul
At times hopeless, but nonetheless
Carrying forth its hope

There was glee in consumption
There was despair
In the departure of might
Might I introduce you
Not to the ending of day
But its expiry?

At the commencement
A surge stirred, storming
Bellowed in the halls of the barely awoken
At the exodos, the vessel
Yearned to consume, yearned to exist

Curiosity introduced
Discovery introduced
Empowerment introduced
Stability introduced
Maintenance introduced
The brutality of its punishment

But the bond, the link
Was broken, was violated
The chains shattered, vessel liberated
And in the halls of the barely awoken
Songs of valor were sung
What haunted me
I battled and overcame
And became
It
Sum Demogorgon
