Reunion

I finally made it back to Mitsuri's house, and right as I was about to open the door, the door swung open and Mitsuri wrapped me in a hug "I'm glad you're ok," she said with a big smile

She then let go of me and said "Since you have become an official demon slayer now you will go on missions. You're custom made sword should be done in about two weeks so make sure you can do all the breathings right,"

"I can do them all," I said in response

"Also do you know about-" I was about to say as the door swung open

I quickly moved out of the way and kid behind a wall since if Mitsuri was found to have a disciple a lot of effort would have to be made to explain.

"Hi, Mitsuri!" a familiar voice called out

I peeked around the door only to see two girls each with butterfly pins in their hair. One was the one I met during final selection and the other was one I met after.

"O-oh hey Shinobu, Kanao," she said clearly caught off guard that they randomly came

"Mind if we stay over for a bit?" Shinobu asked

"Not at all!" Mitsuri responded with a smirk

Then Shinobu started talking about final selection and how well Kanao did in it "But you're not gonna believe what happened. Apparently, a slayer was injured and the kid Kanao was fighting used him as bait and got him killed!" 

'This... is not going to be good,' I thought as I tried to leave

"What did he look like?" Mitsuri asked curiously 

"He had black hair with reddish tips at the end and a red mark or something on his forehead

"Is that so," she said while secretly glaring at where I was hiding

After a while, they finally took their leave and Mitsuri called out "Tanjiro,"

"Yes," I replied in a monotone voice

"Why did you kill the boy?" She asked

"Why keep someone around only for them to die a few moments later. At least he died doing something useful," I said back coldly

"Promise me you won't do that again," Mitsuri said

I looked at her and responded "No promises, it's not like I want to kill people but if it's necessary then I will," I responded 

To that, she put her hand on her forehead and said "Just... try not to. It's our job to protect people weaker than us, even if they will die trying to give them a death where they will have no regrets."

"...Fine," I said 

"Now with that out of the way let's have a feast!" she yelled as she brought out tons of food

'I forgot, she loves to eat,' I thought

I had some meat that was there but Mitsuri proceeded to eat everything else.

"That was good!" she said

I nodded and then went into my room and waited for the days to pass until I got my katana

(1 week later)

"Tanjiro come here!" Mitsuri yelled

I came to the front door when I saw her with a guy in a weird mask holding a katana

"He is your katana, one rule. DO. NOT. BREAK. IT" he said very angrily 

"Ok," I responded as I grabbed the sword from his hands

When I unsheathed the katana it changed from a gray to black with red flames on the front

"WOW! how cool!" the man in the mask yelled

I then changed my grip on it and it turned into a whip-like sword with the blade still in the front. After he saw the transformation the man in the mask disappeared and Mitsuri turned to me "Well now that you're going on missions we won't see each other in a while," 

"...thank you... I mean it" I said as I started leaving with a blank expression on my face

"WAHH TANJIRO!!!" Mitsuri yelled with tears in her eyes as she hugged me super tightly

"Ok... you can let go now," I said

"Sorry," she said as she let go "Make sure you stay safe!" 

With that, I took my leave and my raven gave me my first mission "Tanjiro! You are to head to a town south of here to a village where girls have been disappearing! Caw!"

I then started to head south for my first mission.

I know this was a shorter chapter but I wanted to make this its own chapter so yea. Now Tanjiro will be going on his first mission which will be next chapter! as always I hope you enjoyed and I hope to see you guys soon!
