( in order of appearance)Josephine "Rose" Blakeway
Awkward 90s teen Rose has more in common with her grandma than the kids in home room. She'd rather watch old, black-and-white movies than "Beverly Hills 90210." Although she is a great dancer, Rose is too shy to show off. She hides her curvy figure under baggy t-shirts after a childhood bullies called her fat, freckled and ugly. A late bloomer, Rose finally grew a few inches and filled out a bra, which gives her just enough confidence to try out for cheerleading at her new high school a thousand miles from home (and finally make her mom proud). But, after years of being an outcast, can Rose overcome her shyness, social anxiety and lack of confidence?
---
Ryan Blakeway
Rose's 12-year old brother is so much cooler than her. With great hair and a winning smile, Ryan has the confidence and personality to sweet talk his way through life. Clearly their mom's favorite, he milks it for all its worth. But there's no hard feelings... Ryan is fiercely loyal to his big sister Rose and is always ready to give her a pep talk or go on an adventure.

Bethany Grant
Like "Strawberry Shortcake" all grown up, varsity cheer captain Bernie is dripping with sweetness, but there's something bitter under the surface. When Rose miraculously lands a spot on the squad, Bernie is quick to spot out the imposter. Bernie and her bestie will stop at nothing to put Rose in her place.
