Awkward 90s teen Rose has more in common with her grandma than the kids in home room. She'd rather watch old, black-and-white movies than "Beverly Hills 90210." Although she is a great dancer, Rose is too shy to show off. She hides her curvy figure under baggy t-shirts after a childhood bullies called her fat, freckled and ugly. A late bloomer, Rose finally grew a few inches and filled out a bra, which gives her just enough confidence to try out for cheerleading at her new high school a thousand miles from home (and finally make her mom proud).
