RHAENA'S POV
Goodbyes were always so hard for me. I never understood why people would want to leave and never return. We stood in mother's chambers as Ser Harwin said goodbye, I was holding back my tears because Ser Harwin was like another father to us, he was always there to protect us. When we came to me, I hugged him and said
" I will never forget you Ser Harwin, I will make sure to tell Joffrey tales of you" he smiled at me and hugged me and said
" Til we meet again Princess and when we meet I would like to see how good you are with a bow and arrow" I smiled at him as he went to mother and said his goodbyes to her and Joffrey. He walked out the room and Jace walked after him, mother went to him and said something, but I didn't hear them. I went to a spot outside there was a big tree I sat under the tree and cried I prayed to the gods of old Valyria to protect him , I paused my prayed when I heard someone
"why are you crying" I turned and looked to see Aemond he stood in front of me I quickly whipped my tears and tried to walk past him until he grabbed my arm
"Who caused to such Sadness Rhaena?" Aemond asked as he whipped my tears away with his thumb , my breath was caught in my throat my heart started to beat faster
" Ser Harwin is leaving , I don't have a good feeling about it , Aemond I fear his death is around the corner." Aemond looked at me and gave me a hug , this is the first time he's ever been so affectionate towards me .
"Don't weep, My Dear Rhaena I shall be here for you from now on" Aemond said i was confused when he called me his Rhaena but I ignored it , we sat down in the place where the tree was , we talked for hour and hours and soon we meet there for several days we talked we laughed but something in me started to grow my heart started to beat faster whenever he did the most littlest things , I started to admire then adore him and his presence .
we were outside yet again in our favorite spot , Aemond head played in my lap while I read a book about King Jaehaerys Reign and his children
" I admire Saera " I spoke outloud
"why would you admire Saera she's known as the disgrace to our name" I slapped him on top of his head
" I admire her because of her bravery and her abilities to break the rules not many women have that in them." I said Aemond only hummed and then spoke
" I admire Baelon he claimed Vhagar , he went form a dragon with no wings to a dragon flying in the sky" he said I knew how much he wished for a dragon I did too but I knew that one day we wold both have our wings. I decided to changed the subject
" I see why most girl yearn for a love like King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne a love so pure" I smiled why tracing my hands over the text that spoke of that chapter Aemond sat up next to me and looked at me and asked
" Do you not yearn for love Rhaena?" He asked I looked at him I looked at his face hen looked so handsome right now , I looked up at the sky at the sound of a dragon it was Syrax I smiled and said
" Every girl wishes for love , I want a love that makes my heart beat faster a love that makes me confused thinking of that person, a love that would last for eternity." I said looking back to him what I was saying was me describing how he made me feel I was hopping he would get what I was implying
" And what if I could give you that love Rhaena." Aemond said he grabbed my hand I looked down at them but then the realization sinked in
" I doubt our mothers would be happy about this Aemond" I said with a sadness
" It doesn't matter what they think Rhaena , All that matters is you in me" He leaned in to kiss me and for some reason I couldn't move I sat there frozen I was about to lean in until I heard a servant clear her voice , we quickly moved away from each other
" Your Highness its time to ready you for bed" I smiled and got up from Aemond I looked back but saw he was already gone.
" The same dream, but I was watching this time I was a babe in the cradle I watched as mother placed a dragon egg in my crib but when she placed it I cried and cried the crying wouldn't stop until they took the egg away and then here I am again in the same place again I was outside of dragon stone it was night, the wind was howling the ocean was crashing against the stones, and then I heard it the roar of a dragon I didn't know where it came from, but then it appeared in front of me I wasn't frightened it seemed liked a friend I felt content at home as if I've found my companion. I looked into its eyes and then"
" Your Highness please wake up" I was awakened by a servant, I asked
" What is it" I asked the servant, she then said
" Her royal highness Princess Rhaenyra has requested that you packed your bags" the servant said I was completely dumbfounded as to why she wanted us to pack up until I saw my mother walk into my chambers saying
" Pack your bags Rhaena we are leaving for Dragon stone" She sounded furious
" But why?" I asked confused she looked at the servant signaling for her to leave
" Were leaving because there are rumors going around" She said I was still lost because there where a lot of rumors going around some went as far as saying that my true father was Corlys Velaryon I wanted to laugh at that thought
" Why were you in the gardens with Aemond unattended?" My mother asked me I sat up now , that servant must've blabbered her mouth and told the whole court what she saw , I was an honest person and I don't like to lie unless its necessary's I was debating if I should lie right now
" We were reading together." I said the truth
" Well a servant said they found you and Aemond about to embrace one another , is that true Rhaena? You must think of your reputation right now"
" I have no idea what your talking about mother , Aemond and I were reading and making joke we were even eating snacks together , isn't that what you want for us to bond? Because I know sooner or later one day when im grown and flowered you're gonna sell me off to him or even maybe an old lord who swore fealty to you." Great Gaslight and lie , Im pretty good at this
my mother sighed and put her hand over her head
" Pack now , and the two of ou won't be saying any goodbye to avoid anymore rumors , we may write him a letter" And with that she left , I huffed and got up and looked to the starts and thought
" Maybe our love was damned from the start"
