Rhaena's POV
I sat in my chambers the next morning reading a book on the house of the 7 kingdoms, I was currently on the chapters about the Stark's, i've always wanted to go to the north.I heard someone knock on my chamber and I told them to enter. My mother waltzed into my chambers and said
"Good morning Rhaena, did you sleep well?" She said this as she rubbed her hand across my face, I leaned into her touch because my mother always had this comforting presence about her, she will always soothe my worries.
" Yes mother, I did sleep well actually for the first time in a long time" I said as I made space for her to sit down she moved towards me and sat down next to me , I placed my head into her lap and started to read my book until she asked
" How are you feeling" she asked as she moved my hair out of my face I only hummed when she asked this .
" I guess , Ive always known that this day would come I just didn't know who they would try to sell me off to" I said this as I started to sit up and looked toward her .
" Ive always had a thought that would be Aemond maybe it was the hope I had for when I once admired him but I earned those desires from my head Ive always thought that Alicent would never give him to me of all people " I said I as I looked into a distance and started think more about my situation .Aemond and I were once close but after the whole thing on drift mark we've come to hate each other a hard without reason and the hatred of to lost lovers.
" I should've known that they would try to pull this trick on us" I mother said this with a look of anger I knew that she would be mad at this , I am too but I have to do what is best for us .
" Mother I'm only doing this because it benefits us and plus I want grandfather to see me marry in this lifetime, I would be saddened if he never saw me marry. I've already lost father and I can't lose him yet , we haven't had enough time together " I said this as I held her hand and gave her a sad smile my mother only looked at me with a gloomed look on her face and gave a hug. I've always kept my feeling inside I never usually tell anyone how I'm feeling or how I feel in the moment . Words just never come out to explain it. We heard a knock on the door
" Enter" I said as I left my mothers embrace
" Your grace, Your highness, Her Royal Majesty Queen Alicent asked for you" I looked at my mother with a confused look she then whispered to me and said
" She might want to speak about the wedding," I rolled my eyes and sighed. I then put my book down and got up and gave mother a kiss on her cheek and told the servant to lead the way.
We walked out of my chambers and around the palace, I saw many young lords and lady's staring at me with lust and Jealousy in their eyes, I only winked and smirked at them. We arrived to outside the queen's chambers I saw Ser Criston was standing there, and we made eye contact as he opened the door for me, he entered the room as well he probably thought I would kill her if we were alone. She stood in the middle of her room looking outside towards the window, I bowed and said
" Your Grace" She turned to face me when I said that she had a smile on her face, but I knew not to trust her because she was a snake who wore the colors of envy on her.
" Rhaena you've grown to become such a beauty, come sit with me" I smiled at her compliment, but it didn't reach my eyes I then sat in the chair across her, and she spoke again
" As you know now, you will be marrying my son Aemond. He's always been the most difficult out of all of my children" she said this as she had a far away look in her eyes ,I didn't know where she was going with this
" how does it feel" she then asked me I was confused and said
" What do you mean, your grace"
" How does it feel, you took his eye, and now you are paying him back with your virtue" I at this point was starting to get annoyed with her, and then I told her
" I'm not paying him back, His lost eye is a debt he had to pay for saying vile words about my brother's" The queen scuffed at this and said
"You think that once you marry my son, your family will still save you ? I'm sorry to break it to you Rhaena but your loyalty will belong with us once you marry my son." I looked at her like she was crazy and then spoke again and said
" I'm sorry to break it to you Alicent but my loyalty isn't just given or taken from me, it is earned. My mother has suffered a great deal for me. I would rather kill myself then to betray my mother" The Queen was shocked when I said this
" Such beautiful words spoken from a beautiful person" I heard someone say, and I turned around to look to see who it was, and it was Aemond he stood at the entrance of the room standing there with his hands crossed behind his back, He then walked up to me and offered his hand to me and said
" Shall we?" I stared at his hand and got up from my chair walking pass him and said
