I don't remember correctly but I think it was around the time Khushi tried to commit suicide or after Arnav called her the biggest mistake of his life. She had either jumped or had an accident and she lost all memories of Arnav only. The doctor said that it was retrograde amnesia which happened because of trauma. Arnav distanced himself from her thinking that his presence would affect her negatively. Payal left the Raizada house when Arnav told Everyone why he married Khushi. But since Khushi had amnesia and she was unaware of all this Payal came back after a few months just for Khushi's sake. Years went by and Khushi completed her studies in fashion design and went on to work for AR where she met Arnav again and questioned him about his absence from her life. I don't remember the rest.
