The next day, when I came down after getting ready, I found hunter waiting by his bike for me. He was standing as usual with a cigarette in one hand and his cell phone in the other. He was busy on his phone when I walked towards him. He puffed out smoke when I was only a few steps away from him, and I inhaled it unconsciously. I start coughing at the stench of it.

"F**k," he murmured as he threw it down and smashed it under his shoes.

"I didn't see you!" He said, his face holding a little worry as he waited for my coughing to subside.

"Why do you even smoke? It's so bad. " I glared at him and his unhealthy habit of smoking all the time. He only sighed in return and sat on his bike wearing his helmet. He pulled out a small helmet, probably for me, and put it on my head.

"No, you will ruin my hairstyle," I said as I took a step back. He looked at me with a look I couldn't fathom.

"It's for your safety," he sighed and said in a stern voice, which left nothing for argument.

"But..." I straightened my hair today, wasting a good hour. And then made two small braids on each side which are pinned to the back. He gave me a hard look at which I rolled my eyes and stepped towards him as he put a helmet on my head carefully, may I add. A small smile appears on my lips at his gentleness, which goes against his usual hard and rough demeanour.

"Hop on," he said, and I sat behind him snaking my hands around his waist. I haven't felt so much safe while I am feeling around him. He sucked in a breath.

"You have a nice bike," I said as he started the engine.

"Yeah, she is!" He said, and I looked at the back of his head, confused.

"She?" I said, and instantly the first time when I heard him talking on his bike, he even called her by a name that I forgot.

"Yeah, she is Bella, my first love." his voice held amusement, I couldn't help but feel a little jealous of the way he was talking about a bike with so much love.

"You are talking as if she is your girlfriend," I scoffed.

"In a way, she is!" He said, and I went quiet after that. I can't believe that I am getting jealous of a non-living.

He stopped in front of my university, I hopped off the bike and stood in front of me as I was about to remove the helmet he stopped me and removed it gently. Then he tamed my loose hair with such softness that I never thought he had in him.

"There you go!" He lightly whispered as his eyes were still on my hair. Then our eyes locked, and I saw a small soft smile on his face. It was barely there if I wasn't close enough I wouldn't have seen, but something in me blossomed when I realized that smile is for me and only me.

"At which time does your classes end?" He asked, and I told him the time.

"Okay, I will wait here for you," he said, and I couldn't help but smile. This man has made me smile plenty of times in these 24 hours. I can't believe I am having these feelings for someone other than ... my Mr handsome. In a way, it feels like I am betraying those feelings. I can't put my head around the fact that I am that easily attracted by him that too after a one month. I felt immense regret at myself.

"Bye," I said and turned towards the university. When I looked up, I was head to head with Jack, who had a frown on his face as his gaze fell on someone behind me. I looked back to find Hunter glaring back at Jack, who visibly paled and looked at me.

"Hi," I I greeted him.

"Who is that?" He said, not even greeting me back.

"Uh, he is ... my friend" I don't know if I should call him that. We are not friends. Our relationship is something else.
