He came in front of us and grabbed Hunter by his throat.

"You brought her here of all places!" He yelled at Hunter, who looked ready to pounce at my brother but was controlling for my sake.

"Noah! Please leave him, " I said as I tried to push him away from Hunter. He gave me a hard look, and something flickered in his eyes as he stepped away. I came in front of Hunter in a way to protect him. I know Hunter won't put a hand on Noah, but I don't trust Noah with that.

"Huh!" He scoffs when he sees me standing in front of Hunter.

"Didn't know you need my sister's protection, and I thought you were a great fighter!" Noah taunted Hunter to rile him. I can feel the anger rolling off of him.

"Noah, please, stop it!" I said a little hard, which took him by surprise. He looked hurt too but hid his expression immediately.

"I thought you would come back to us till now, but it looks like he still has you under his clutches." Noah gritted out as he glared at Hunter behind me.

My eyes teared up at seeing my brother after so long, even though he is angry at me or probably hates me, but I still love them.

"I missed you!" I whispered as I hiccuped, unable to contain my tears. He was about to step towards me but stopped midway and looked away from me.

"You made your choice," he said, still not looking at me.

"If only I didn't have to choose!" I said in a small voice as he looked back at me.

"You shouldn't have come here. This is no place for you!" He said and glared at Hunter. If I wasn't here in between them, I knew they wouldn't refrain from using their hands on each other.

"Why are you here? You also shouldn't be here!" I said.

"Your brother is a member of this club," said Marcus from behind us. All of us turn towards him, I was in shock, and both Hunter and Noah glared at Marcus, who squirmed under their heated gaze.

"Oops... I shouldn't have said anything, " he said as he took a step back. I turn towards my brother with a questioning look.

"Noah?" I asked, but he didn't meet my gaze.

"I am not answerable to you." he ran his hand through his hair with frustration.

"But you judged Hunter over that." I couldn't help myself as I taunted. He looked taken aback by my words.

"Yes, because I know how dangerous this profession is, I am only a member, but this guy has his claws deep in this club," he hissed. I know he is talking about Mr Langstone and his association with Hunter. From our brief meet-up, I can tell Mr Langstone is not a good man who only thinks about his own benefit. And now he resent me and Hunter.

"I only come here to watch fights occasionally, I don't have a deep connection with the boss," he further added.

"Hunter is quitting," I said, not knowing why I told him that maybe to show him that Hunter is changing for good. He looked a little shocked and then scoffed.

"As if he will!" He said, and I frowned.

"You don't understand, do you?" He asked with narrowed eyes.

"What are you... talking about?" I ask, afraid of what he would say.

"The only way out from here is death!" Noah said, and I flinched.

"No... no... you don't know...!" I stuttered, he gave me a sorry look. I turned towards Hunter, who was already glaring at my brother.

"Hunter! Is... is he saying the truth?" I asked him, knowing well that my brother won't ever lie about something like this even if he hates Hunter.

"Kitten... we will talk about it later, once we are back at home!" He said, moving to grab my hand, but I stepped back again.

"No, tell me!" I said firmly. He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.

"I... it's complicated, but ...." I didn't let him finish after that.

"And you didn't think to tell me about it. You were quitting after knowing the risk." I was angry at him.

"Alara... please, it's not.." He started.

"I don't want to listen anything," I cut him off as I wiped my tears.

"I want to go home," I said, and he nodded. I turned towards Noah as he looked at me. I know he wanted to say something but stopped himself.

"You are still welcomed back!" He told me, but I know what he means. He meant leaving Hunter.

"I won't leave him if that's what you want to hear," I said, my voice coming out curt. He scowled and turned around to leave.

"Don't bring my sister here ever again. If anything happens to her, I will kill you!" He warned Hunter and then left.

After that, both Hunter and I left, too. Both of us stayed silent throughout the way. How can he hide something so big from me?

I didn't wait for him to park as I made my way straight to the elevators and to our home... No, it's not even out home. It's Langstone penthouse!

I sat down on the stool by the kitchen counter as I held my head in my hands. After some time, I heard his footsteps behind me. He stopped a few steps away from me.

"Alara!" He called. I wanted to shout or yell at him, but I felt too tired.

"Why didn't you tell me? Don't you care about me? You are ready to risk your life. Have you ever thought about what I would do if something happened to you?" I said, still sitting in the same posture.

"Kitten, I would never leave you. Langstone owe me something, he won't kill me" he told me and I looked back at him with hope.

"Are you sure?" I asked to be sure, he stepped towards me and took my hands in his.

"Yes, I know what I am doing" he told me and I sighed.

"Hunter I am scared, Langstone was angry with me" I said and he scowled.

"He won't hurt you, I promise!" He said with such determination.

"What if he threw us out of this penthouse? It's his right?" I said.

"We are moving out of this place in a month, don't worry. He won't do anything till then" he assured me and I leaned towards him as I placed my head on his chest.

"I saw Noah today!" I said with a small smile.

"It felt good to see him after months" I sighed and I felt him snaking his arms around my back.

"Everything will be alright!" He said and I looked up at him with his arms still around me.

"Promise?" I asked and he smiled softly.

"Promise!" He said and I believed him.
