It was time for dinner, as Gabriel had so kindly announced over the intercom to get our asses downstairs quickly, as Mr and Mrs King were back.

I giggled at Gabriel's choice of words.

"I didn't think Gabriel, as uptight as he looks could actually say the word ass."

Jordan shot me a look. "You'd be surprised to hear what comes out of his mouth."

I was holding Viv in my arms, getting ready to leave with Jordan, when he told me to stop.

I turned confused, and he pointed at my cat.

"Mom's allergic to cats."

"Oh." I breathed out. This would be a problem.

"Just get going, I'll catch up with you. Let me just alert one of the maids to feed her in the kitchen."

I nodded. "Thanks."

He smiled at me. " No problem."

We both left the room and took off in different directions.

By the time I had walked a few feet down the hall, staring at a fork in the road, I realized I was utterly and completely lost.

Dang it, I forgot I was now basically living in a maze.

Noooo!!! This cannot be happening! I need to get to the dining room now, I can't possibly be late for my first official family dinner.

I decided to just wing it and go wherever my feet led me, and luckily, I arrived at the same time as Jordan.

The first thing I noticed was how long the table was. Like, it basically covered the length of the room itself, and the room was massive.

All of this for what? Six people?! That's outrageous!

I quickly sat down on the seat beside Jordan and silenced my thoughts.

I let my eyes wonder around the room, noticing how most things were in gold. I guessed this family had a gold fetish then.

The table was surprisingly not made of glossy wood like I originally thought. Looking closer I observed it was made of sleek marble.

I don't think I had ever seen a marble table personally, so I couldn't help but trace my fingers across the edge, lifting up a bit of the stark white tablecloth in the process. But a quick glare from Raven's direction made me place my hand in my lap immediately.

In front of me was a delicately decorated porcelain plate that was empty apart from a black and gold menu placed neatly in the middle.

I looked around the table, slightly confused only to see Raven eating a weird looking salad and Xander...was nowhere to be seen.

And looking at the empty seats at the head of the table, so were Mr. and Mrs. King.

I nudged Jordan, who was sitting at my left, staring intently at his menu.

He turned to me with an eyebrow raised. I gestured to the menu in my hands. " What am I supposed to do to with this?" He looked at me like I had grown an extra eye.

"What else do you do with a menu? Hurry up and order something quickly, before mom and dad get here."

I could feel myself getting irritated and scowled at him. "No shit sherlock of course I know what you do with a menu but we aren't at a freakin' restaurant! We're at a home, and this is all new to me. Also, hey look, the entire menu is written in French, so I can't order!"

Jordan winced at my slight outburst and Raven shot me a glare from across the table that clearly said 'shut up ugly' or maybe I was just reading too much into it.
