Texas pov.

Mom walked inside after dad walked out there.

"Alright everyone go to bed, Rusia, ¿puedes esperar aquí a que Ame y Confederate vuelvan a entrar? No deberían tardar mucho." Mom told everyone singling Russia out for the last bit. (Russia can you wait here for Ame and Confederate to come back inside, they shouldn't be too long.) Everyone left the living room and went to bed. Once I got to my room I changed into my pajamas and settled into the bed.

~midnight - dream ~

I was wonderin' around in one of the many forests within my state lines, until I heard cryin' in the brush near by, I treaded lightly 'n couldn't make out who was cryin' but it didn't sound like anyone I knew. I walked closer but, once I got to the tree I froze. I knew this person, I tried to help them before, but who were they, all I felt was pure fear, somethin' I felt durin' the civil war, and Uncle Dixie went mad, I had ran to the forest to hide, but they found me, the person I found wasn't anyone from my family it was Confederate, the battle flag worn with pride. I shook in place and tried to run, but it was no use, the man cornered me, I screamed at the top of my lungs, but I heard nothing but his laughter, the menacing look in his eyes, I couldn't feel my body.  I looked around panicked, tryin' to find the exit to this place, escape from the fear. My mind raced and my breath quickened,  everything was going blurry and I stumbled a bit the fear making me nauseous.

"-tar!" I heard someone yelled, I looked around for the source of the voice.

"-one Star!" They yelled again, I made a mad dash for the direction of the voice.

"Lone Star wake up!" I stopped, I feel the world start to shake.

~Reality~

I started to wake up slowly, I felt the rush of fear follow me, my breath quickened, my heart racin'.

"C'mon Lone Star, your gonna be alright." I heard someone say, a southern accent lacin' their worried voice. I felt someone sit on the bed, and I latched on, clingin' on for dear life. It took me a moment to notice the other people in the room, their towerin' shadows loomin' over me. That's when I noticed that I couldn't feel anything, I heard my heart poundin', I let out a shaky breath and backed into the inner corner of the bed.

"Texas, listen to the sound of my voice, va a estar bien, necesitamos que respires y calmes tu corazón acelerado, nada aquí puede lastimarte, estás a salvo es solo un sueño, déjate calmarte." Mom spoke. (it's going to be alright, we need you to breath, and calm your racing heart, nothing here can hurt you, you're safe it's only a dream, let yourself calm down.)

"Mamá, ayúdame, me va a atrapar, mamá, por favor, tengo miedo." I replied, still shakin' in the corner of my bed. (Mom, help me, he's gonna get me, mom please I'm scared.) I felt the bed shift again, and the person I held onto only moments ago had gotten up, the bed dipped once more, I listened for a voice.

"Está bien, estoy aquí, oh mi pequeña estrella, va a estar bien." Mom told me softly, I felt her move closer and let her hug me. (it's  alright, I'm right here, oh my little star, it's going to be alright.) "Can you tell me what happened, in English if you can?" She asked, I nodded.

"I was in the forest, I don't remember which one, but I knew it was in my state borders. Then I heard some one cryin' I walked over to see who it was, because it didn't sound like any of my siblin's. Once I got close enough to the person, I felt overwhelmed with fear, that I couldn't run, I tried screamin' for help but no sound came from my voice, so I found an exit but I found myself cornered. When I finally looked at them, I saw the battle flag, everythin' was tellin' me to run, as fast and far as I possibly could, but I couldn't move, when I finally got the chance to run i took it. Once I got far enough away, the feelin' of fear followed me, I couldn't breath, I felt my heart beat quicken, everythin' got blurry, and I felt numb." I explained, sobbin' once I finished. Mom rubbed my back, and I felt the bed dip behind me.

"I'm sorry Lone Star, no kid should have been involved in that damn war, I'm so sorry." Uncle Dixie told me, placin' a hand on my shoulder.

"Ame, you and Maple can go back to bed, we'll stay and watch him." Mom told dad.

"Yeah, I need to check on Flower and Alaska, anyways." Dad replied. I heard a pained tone in his voice.

"Mexi, I'll be right back, I'ma go knock some sense into Yankee." Uncle Dixie told mom.

"Yeah, I heard the pain in his voice, I know how much it hurts him to see the kids like this, he isn't getting much sleep either, he always wakes up to check on all of the kids who have see the wars, and those that have gotten caught in the crossfire, hell I wouldn't put it past Lone Star if he had flashbacks to when we had our war, I'm not going to call it a small dispute because it wasn't." Mom replied, softly making sure that I was calmin' down. Uncle Dixie had gotten off the bed, and walked out.

Confederate pov.

'I feel bad, he shouldn't have been involved, none of the other southern states were 'ffected by the Civil War, but Lone Star was the only one.' I thought to myself as I looked for Ame. Once I got to where Alaska and Hawaii's room was I saw him sittin' on the floor, head in his knees as he silently cried.

"North, are you alright? It wasn't like you to speak with that much pain in your voice, North I need you to talk to me." I told my brother as gently as I could. I peered into the girls room and saw them sleepin' soundly.

"Where did I go wrong South? When did I fail as a father? I can't take the sad stares anymore Dix, I know I need help, but the kids need me here, I can't keep brushing myself off, I need help, but I'm too scared to ask, the kids are getting better, but Lone Star, Alaska and Hawaii are relapsing and my nightmares are coming back, hell I'm running out of options here, the older states have been trying to help cut the work load in half, but it's not doing much." Ame explained, tryin' to keep his voice down.

"North, stop beatin' yourself up, it's not gonna help you any. Go back to bed, I'm sure Nada can stay with these two." I told him, acknowledging the Canadian in the hall.

"He's right Stars, go to bed you need to rest, we can take care of the kids." Canada reassured him.

"Thanks guys." Ame told us, walking back to his room. We nodded and Nada stayed with the girls and I went back to Mex and Lone Star.

"How'd it go?" Mexi asked.

"We got his butt to go to bed, but we'll have to talk to Russia, and have him help us get North to take a break. He still blames himself for everythin' that happened." I told her, "Lone Star I know you're still awake, what's on your mind?" I asked the kid.

"Dad still blames himself, is that why his eyes are black again?" He asked.

"We still don't know what causes that, but don't worry 'bout it too much." I replied. He nodded and yawned.

"Alright, I'll stay with him, you can go to bed if you want to Confetti." Mexico told me.

"I should be tellin' you that, but I'll swing by in the mornin' to check on North, Maple, and y'all." I replied leavin' Lone Star's room.
