Jayson's pov
I stared at Brooke and Lucas laughing and giggling at the table outside of the school, I was happy for her but I didn't know what I felt, she never looked happier but I wasn't happy to see her like that
What was I feeling? There is no way I felt something more then friends with Brooke? Did I like her? No there was no way, Impossible
"Hey" I heard which brought me out of my daze and turn to the voice "what are you doing?" Peyton asked sitting next to me
"Oh just um" I glared at the two before fully turning my attention to Peyton "nothing, so how are you doing?"
"I'm fine" she looked uncertainly
"You don't look fine Peyt" I gave her a small smile and she let out a sigh "what's up?"
"Maybe I'm just not okay with it all" she stared behind me probably to her bestfriend and her new boyfriend "but I'm happy she's happy
"Yeah" I smiled at Peyton who had put on a smile for her bestfriend
"Don't you have practice?" Peyton cleared her throat
"Yeah, yeah actually I'm gonna be late" I stood up "see you later Peyton" I gave her one last smile turning around and walking towards the gym
I furrowed my eyebrows at the sight of all the boy surrounding the gym entrance, I made my way to them and seeing a piece of paper in Nathan's hand, I took it into my own to see what it read
"Practice canceled"
Coach wanted us to take the time to think things through, about what the game was actually about, mostly because of what had happened to Nathan

Third person pov
Laying on her bed Peyton listen to music before she heard a knock on her door, she turned to see Jayson with a small smile on his face
"Hey" he walked in
"Hey" she sat up with a chuckle "what are you doing here? Don't you have practice?" She looked over at the clock while Jayson looked around the room
"Canceled, coach said we have to take this time to think about what basketball was actually about" he put air quotes around the word "basketball"
"Alright" she smiled "but that still doesn't explain why you're here" Jayson turned around with a smile on his face
"We're going out, to get your mind off thing" he walked over to her bed "just to enjoy the free time I have right now
"G-going out?" He sat at the edge of the bed
"Yeah going out" He laughed at her nervousness "as friends" a smiled slowly curled up on her face "we're friends right?"
"Yeah, yeah we are" Jayson clapped and jumped off the bed
