IVY LAID ON THE pullout in the living room while the girls all slept in their own rooms; chad and ethan supposedly passed out on the floor, sharing a blanket.
the girl couldn't sleep without thinking about ethan's comment. she wouldn't have cared if anyone else said it, but the fact that it was him of all people left a strange feeling in her stomach.
ivory stared at the ceiling, wondering about whether he meant it or not. ivy tried to convince herself that she changed, that she wasn't the same person anymore but thoughts of sniffing a line one last time or swallowing a couple pills lingered in her mind.
she cleared her throat and pulled her phone off of the glass table it was charging on, scrolling through her messages while trying to find a certain someone who she swore to never text again.
ethan's eyes flickered open as the white light from her screen had woken him up although, he wasn't really asleep in the first place.
"you're awake?" he yawned and propped himself up on his elbows, "at this time?"
"no i'm not awake ethan. this is just an illusion," she huffed with her tone full of sarcasm.
