ANIKA GENTLY KNOCKED ON the guest bedroom's door – which was occupied by ivory – patiently waiting for a response of some sort, "ivy! i'm ordering food, what do you want?" she asked from behind the door with her phone in hand, but there was still no reply.
her eyebrows slowly furrowed as she reached for the door handle, starting to twist it, before she stopped and huffed to herself. the last thing anika wanted to do was disturb her cousin, knowing how annoyed ivory would be if someone entered her room without a 'come in'. she brushed away the curiosity, instead choosing to rapidly knock against it.
still no reply. anika was confused, her cousin was definitely at home, so why wasn't she replying? it was the afternoon, and ivory never took afternoon naps – she thought it was for babies.
"ives, i'm coming in," she yelled from behind, hastily twisting the handle and pushing it open, only to drop her phone at the sight.
there ivory was, unconscious on the carpet of the bedroom, with faint breaths escaping her lips as well as an empty opioids container in her hand. anika cried out, not hesitating the slightest to run towards her cousin.
