Tarak
Work is often stressful for me. How could it not be? It is unnatural for a scourge to sit passively behind a desk. I also have a constant need to dominate and control my coworkers.

Today, though, I'm looking forward to working. My boss has left me in charge. That means those other scourges must do what I tell them! Rigel has also given me a prescription, I can bring my pet to work as my support animal and today is the day I will take her to work with me, so I wake up extra early, packing things my pet will probably need: a big pillow and an extra blanket so she can curl up under my desk, and a bowl.

She is resistant in the morning and tries to hide in the blanket, but I pull her out. She is angry, glaring at me with her fierce green eyes, but I do everything to give her a good start to the day. I comb her long hair with a pet brush. I set out a bowl filled with an extra generous portion of pet pellets, even though she huffs and turns her head away from the dish.

"Spoiled pet," I say, although I worry. Has she eaten enough? Will she starve? I add a carton of the fruit she likes so much to the pet supplies I will bring to the office.

When I put the muzzle on her, her brow wrinkles like she is confused. So adorable.

I attach her leash, gather all the pet supplies in my arms, and call her to my side. "Kata."

Although I will never admit it to that ugly alien Rigel, bringing my pet to my job was a great idea. The work hours pass faster than normal. I am also much calmer. I attribute these things to my pet. Whenever subordinates refuse to do as I command, I am no longer consumed by anger. Instead, I reach underneath my desk and sink my hands into my pet's hair.

When the workday ends, I decide to reward my pet. My pet enjoys parks where she can frolic with humans and butterflies. Since my workplace is located near a different pet park, how can I resist? I am certain my pet will enjoy exploring a new park.

"Kata," I say and when she runs to me, I put on her muzzle. Off we go.
