I looked up at the green canopy, it was a fine day, and I had no doubt Elizabeth would take advantage of it.

The crunch of footsteps behind me confirmed that I was right.

Before I had left my room, I had steeled myself and said that when I saw her again, when giving her my letter, I would not show one ounce of the suffering she had caused me.

But of course, when I turned around to face her, every wall I had built came crumbling down.

I knew she saw me, but she swiftly pivoted around and briskly walked back in the direction she came.

"Miss Bennet!" I called and admired how fast she could walk as I ran to catch up with her.

"Mr. Darcy," She said politely as she finally stopped and acknowledged me.

"I have been walking the grove some time in the hope of meeting you," I recited my practiced verse, "Will you do me the honor of reading this letter?"

She looked at me curiously as she took the letter. Every fiber of my being screamed to stay with her, but I forced my legs to move, leaving her once more.
