I got grouped with a whole bunch of people in my class whom I don't consider friends. All because my classmates won't SHUT THE FUCK UP. I look over at my best friend, Mei after hearing that we're in the same group. At least I got her.

"HEY, HEY, HEY!! LET'S DO THIS!" This nerdy ass kid says, and I assume he's in our group.

I roll my eyes and turn to him slowly. "Shut your Jeffery from Class of 09', Nirvana listening, Einstien dick-riding ass up," I say. He frowns.

"That's not nice!!" He mumbles under his breath.

"Neither is your breath, but yet we're still here and your ugly ass is still on her case," Mei says. The kid slumps down in his seat, and I high-five her.

"Ladies, you don't need to be bullies!!" The teacher says. I snort before looking over at Mei who's trying not to laugh. God, I love being the funny one in my class.

When I get home, I throw my backpack on the bed before throwing myself on it. Goddamn, I'm so tired. I reach into my nightstand and grab my charger, putting my phone on it before curling up into a ball and falling asleep.

What felt like a few minutes later, my dad barged into my room and I was awake, so tired that I almost passed right back out. "You need to get ready to go to your mom's house, come on." He says, and I roll my eyes. Fuck, I forgot about her, I think my myself as I grab my bookbag and go downstairs.

Then I hear the blasting music in my mom's Nissan. She's here. I think to myself. I give my dad a hug and a kiss before leaving, going to my mom's house for the next month. Time to have fun and have guys come over all the time.

"Really... What's the meaning of life?" My mom asks, taking another puff from the spliff we just rolled up.

"Man, I don't know," I say. "I just know that it's.... life, y'know?" I mumble, giggling.

"Yeah, I get it. But... How's school going, girl?" She asks.

I swear my mom is more like a best friend than an actual parent. Joint custody, am I right?

"I mean, it's good. I bullied the dumbass nerd today," I say, laughing.

"Oh, yeah?" She asks, laughing as well.

"Yeah, but it wasn't just because I wanted to. He was genuinely pissing me off."

"Understandable," She says. "But anyways... How's your dad?" She asks.

She's still head over heels for my dad, and I'm 99% sure my dad's still head over heels for her, too. Sucks he cheated on her 5 years ago.

"Oh, he's good. We might get a cat," I say, she nods, looking sad all of a sudden. "Mom, why don't you just talk to him?"

"It's easier said than done. I want him back, but he cheated on me. With my sister," She says, and I grimace, momentarily forgetting that he cheated with my aunt. "Maybe it's better this way. But god, do I still love him! So, so much." She says, and I nod, empathizing with her.

"I don't understand your exact situation, but I do get what it's like to love someone who isn't good for you. Trust me, mom... I want you guys back together, too. But it starts with you forgiving him," I say, rubbing her back. "Now, let's go back inside. It's getting dark out."

"Actually... I was gonna go grocery shopping. It'll take a few hours, though. Wanna come with me?"

"Nah... I think I'll stay behind. Is it okay if I have a couple of friends over?" I ask.

"As long as I don't see anything broken, missing, covered in sperm, or fucked up... I don't care. I'll see you later, baby." She says.

"Alright, thanks. Love you, Mami. Be safe." I say, going up the stairs to my room.

"I love you too, mija." She says, clicking the front door shut behind her.

I go up to my room and then my phone rings right after I turn my PlayStation on.

"Can you come over?" He asks. I giggle on the other side of the phone.

"Yeah... why?" I ask, trying not to bite my lip too hard.

"You know why." He says before hanging up.
