SAPPHIRE

I was on a videocall with both Theo and Zac while they were telling me about their anniversary celebration. Zac had decorated the whole house with blue flowers, Theo's favourite color, and cooked a delicious three-course meal. I was busy aww-ing when Zac & Theo changed the direction of our conversation.

"So what else is new with you?" Theo asked and I sighed.

"Nothing." I said and skipped the part about the huge revelation. Knowing Theo, he won't let me stay here for one more minute if he knew I was in some kind of danger.

"I don't believe you have been in a strange town for so many days and you didn't meet someone interesting." Theo raised his eyebrows.

At his words, two faces appeared in front of my eyes; one of Connor and the other of Atticus. Both of them were interesting in an extremely different way. The former was like fresh air who had made me blush more than twice during one dinner while the other one was dark, mysterious and creepy whose voice was enough to send some terrorising shivers down my spine.

"I know that look. You met someone." Zac said and I blatantly denied.

"Come on Saph, tell us," Theo said.

Groaning, I rolled my eyes and prepared myself to tell them about Connor. "He is a bookshop owner and Bella's neighbour, Connor." I said.

"Aww." It was Zac who was a hopeless romantic.

"Anyways, It's probably just a crush. I like his mature way of thinking and his green eyes." I said, fighting the urge to fan myself.

"Definitely an upgrade from Roman," Theo said and earned a glare from both Zac and me. "Okay, sorry." he raised his hand.

"Ok guys, it's getting late. I should sleep." I said.

After shutting off my laptop, I lay down to sleep. I was already yawning throughout the call because of tiredness. I had been working on editing a book as I had asked my boss to let me work from home. So as soon as I lay down on the bed and straightened my back, sleep enveloped me.

I was running through the jungle, howls of animals following me keenly. My feet hurt like hell and the sharp pain told me that I was running barefoot. The howls kept coming closer and so did my imminent death, as I made way through thorny shrubs.

Once I stopped at a certain point, I looked around myself. I had been running for an hour now but I ended up in the same place from where I started.

"No," I screamed in frustration, hot tears running down my cheeks. The footsteps behind me came closer. There was no point in running anymore so I gave up and waited for those wolves to tear me apart.

I turned around and closed my eyes. Moments later, someone jumped on me, pushing me back on the ground and straddling me.

It didn't felt like an animal so I opened my eyes and looked into the piercing blue eyes staring into my soul. My lips then moved to his jaw clenched in rage.

"Let me go," I said and felt my heartbeat quicken due to his presence.

"I can't," he said and then his mouth landed on my neck. A loud scream left my mouth when his canines dipped into my skin and he bit me, hard enough that I thought he would suck my soul out.

"Sapphire." Someone pushed me with force and my eyes flew open. I looked around myself and instant relief washed over me when I found that I was in Bella's house.

Bella was bent over me, her eyes filled worry for me. My face and neck was dripping with sweat and my heart was beating at an impossible speed.

"What happened?" she asked.
