My Dearest Enemy

14. Maira

"I'm so tired" i said.

The engagement ceremony finally happened and it was successful for both families. I'm so exhausted.
Everyone congratulated us and left now. Yamraj and his family also left as soon as engagement ceremony completed but annika decided to stay because she wants to spend some time with me.

"Maira, go to your room and sleep. It's already midnight" agastya bhai said.

"Yeah. Let's go to your room and party like mad people afterall you got engaged today. We need to celebrate. I think we should drink alcohol today" annika said.

"You joking right?" Bhai asked her.

Annika didn't say anything and stand seriously like whatever she said was very serious.

Bhai looked at us. His eyes roaming between us.

"O my god. You're serious! Have you lost your mind? Maira tell her, you are not doing anything like that" agastya bhai said.

Annika and i looked at each other for second and then burst into laughter.
Messing with my big brother with the help of my best friend is my new favourite thing. God his reaction was worth seeing.

"Of course we are joking bhai" i said laughing.
Bhai took a deep breath and shook his head in disbelief.

"But we are going to party" annika said with a wink.

"You know what, do whatever you guys wants to do. I'm done" agastya bhai said and left us alone.

We laughed again. Messing around him sometimes give me happiness.

"I loved his reaction" annika said with a smile on her face.

"Of course you loved it, You weirdo" i said.

While we were talking, we reached my room and I immediately changed my clothes. Annika borrowed some of my clothes and we dressed into comfortable clothes.

God this is the best feeling ever. Wearing t shirt and shorts is the best. Now i can breathe comfortably.

"God this is so comfortable" annika said joining me on the bed.

"Yeah. Now i feel like a human being" i said.

"Hmm. Mee too"

Silence took place between us and i closed my eyes to sleep but then again Annika opened her mouth.

"So, you're engaged now" she said looking at me.

I took a deep breath remembering that I'm engaged. It's been a long day. I need time to digest the fact that I'm engaged now.

"Yeah. I'm engaged now. Can you believe that?" i asked.

"Noo" she said laughing.

I also giggle seeing her reaction. I like to spend time with her but right now I'm so much exhausted and i just want to sleep.

"We are gonna be sister in laws" she said.

"Hmm" i said smiling and yawning at the same time.

Suddenly she got up from the bed and sat on the bed. It looks like something dangerous is going on in her mischievous mind.

Oh no.. what is she thinking.

"No annika. We are not drinking alcohol" i said before she could say anything.

"Leave alcohol maira" she said holding on my hands. "I've Better plan. I think we sho...." Before she could complete the sentence i interrupted her.

"No annika I'm not doing anything. I'm already exhausted. I need some good sleep. For the sake of God please sleep" i said pulling my hands away from her.
