it was morning when the alarm went off, Stella buried her face in the pillow and extended her hand to shut it off, thinking she finally got the peace to go back to sleep again, until someone came to knock on her door
" Stella, nak, bangon na " Yaya Emy's voice shouted outside the door.
Napaupo nalang si Stella sa kama niya, as she let out a yawn and rubbed her eyes sleepily, today was her first day as a transferee in Ateneo De Manila
and to say at least she was very excited. Hindi naman araw araway may pasok siya, three or four times a week ang nabigay sakanyang schedule and it was a whole day schedule
meaning she had to wake up early and get ready again like what her high school life was like in America.
Stella stood from her bed and walked inside her bathroom, taking a shower and getting ready for the morning
Stella Melania is the eldest daughter in her family. Her dad is half-American and European while her mom is a Filipina, she has two younger brothers
and their life in america is happy, her parents love each other and there isn't a problem at all, until one day because of a heated argument, her parents decide to leave each other.
her mom sent her back to the Philippines, while her two younger brothers still needed to finish their years in America, her dad went back to Europe while Stella lived with her grandparents.
it was heartbreaking for the siblings to see their parents leave each other, now that they were separated, hindi naging mabilis ang takbo ng buhay nila.
" ate, nasan po sila lola? "
when she arrived at the dining room, she saw Yaya Emy serving the meals at the table
usually, pag umaga na ay ang Lolo Jose at Lola Carmen niya ay naka upo na sa upuan, nag kakape at nanunuod ng TV, but today, they were gone
" ah, lumabas lang po sila dan para mag walking " Yaya Emy replied and Stella nods her head
grabbing a piece of toast and peanut butter, she begins eating her breakfast with a cup of coffee. Since there was still time, she took a seat and opened her laptop
where she begins chatting with her best friend Diane
" Naku Stella, ang ganda mo ngayon ah. Naalala ko pa nugn bata ka, lagi kang umiiyak pag hinahatid ka na ng magulang mo sa eskuwelahan " she continues tumingin kay Stella na may ngiti sa kanyang mga muka
When mentioning the word 'parent', it made Stella think deeply. Honestly, everyday she misses her parents so much, its rarely now that they even call or visit just to see her
" Thanks, yaya. Oh, did you eat breakfast already? " Stella asks and look up from the screen and Yaya Emy nods her head as response
" syempre, gusto mo ba pagbaon pa kita? " She offers and Stella cant help but not to laugh
" No need, di na ako highschool or elementary yaya, pero thanks padin " She replies.
After eating her breakfast, she went back to her room where she brushed her teeth and started applying light make up on her face
She put her laptop and vulnerable stuff inside her black shoulder bag and left.
She smiled when seeing her lola and lolo in the living room together, so she said goodbye and placed a kiss on their cheeks before leaving the house and calling a taxi
luckily, they live in a subdivision in Manila and it only takes fifteen minutes to get to the university, while her eyes are watching in the window to watch the tall buildings pass by
people minding their own business, she knows herself that she's a little bit nervous for her first day at college
but since Diane has been a student in Ateneo, Stella knows she's not alone. But she was cut off from her thoughts when she felt her phone vibrate because of a notification.
one missed message from Unknown
she was confused about who the unknown person had messaged her, so she opened her phone and read the message
good luck today for you're first day at college... I miss you - James
part of her was slightly hurt when realizing it was a message from her ex, but Stella didn't have a second thought and immediately blocked the number, she let out a sigh and turned off her phone. She then remembered the moment when she caught James cheating with another girl in his bed
she can't forgive him for the pain he caused, they broke up a few months ago and since then, di pa rin maka move on sakanya si James.
He would message her a few times a month with different numbers or accounts, begging for her forgiveness. James was her first love, thinking that she finally found the right guy for her, but it turned out to be wrong
when the taxi stopped outside Ateneo University
inabot ni Stella yung bayad at umalis na. Ateneo De manila was one of the best universities in the Phillipines and she was thankful na nakapasok siya.
A smile spread across her face when Diane already waiting for her outside the main entrance, the girl ran to her and attacked her with a tight hug, which caused the other students to watch the scene and begin whispering at each other
" huy sino yon? bat ang ganda niya? "
"Ayan ata yung transferee? "
" mukang englishera ah "
when Diane pulled away, the two girls smiled excitedly at each other
" isang buwan na kitang nakita ah! " Diane began as Stella fixed the strap of her bag on her shoulder
"Sorry, I was busy these past few months. But im now here " She replies and shrugs her shoulder, Diane lets out a small laugh and locks her arms to hers
"Let go inside, ang dami kong papakita sayo "
