"Do you want it boy?" I held out the rope and shook it invitingly. The dog stared at me. "Do you want it?" I said again. Then he leapt.
For a minute or so we pulled at our ends of the toy - me with my hands, the dog with his teeth. We danced around the room, shouting and growling at each other. Finally, I yanked hard, lifting the dog onto his hind legs and into the air.
He let go and fell to the floor.
"Do you want it boy?" I shook the rope.
He leapt for the rope again.
