TRUDGING THROUGH the snow-covered streets of Cardiff, Ollie and Devyn's small breaths of fresh air formed little clouds as they exhaled, the warmth of their laughter lingering between them like a cozy blanket.

Their day had come to a conclusion and most of it had been filled with shared smiles, meaningful glances, and the fluttering excitement of newfound connection.

Her cheeks flushed a shade of pink from the cold weather, but also from the thrilling date she had with Ollie. He couldn't help but steal glances at her every second, captivated by the way the soft glow of the streetlights danced in her eyes, illuminating her features with a subtle allure.

They walked side by side, their footsteps leaving a trail of imprints in the freshly fallen snow as they furthered away from his parked car, each step bringing them closer together, both metaphorically and physically. Despite the winter chill, their hearts were warmed by the budding affection that had blossomed between them.

As they approached Devyn's dorm, the imposing silhouette of Cardiff Castle loomed in the distance. It was earlier that day when Ollie took her to see it standing with all of its glory through the white blankets of soft snow. Her eyes sparkled with excitement at the sight, her love for the historic landmark evident in the way she gazed at it with childlike wonder.

With a gentle smile, Ollie reached out and took Devyn's hand in his, the simple gesture sending a rush of warmth through them both.

Reaching the entrance of her building, Devyn let go of
his hand to unlock the door, her cold palms struggling to grip the copper keys. But with just enough strength, she luckily got the door opened, a laugh following afterwards.

Turning around to walk in with Ollie, a lost expression soon painted her features as he was no where in sight. "Where did he go?" She thought.

"Ollie?" She called out, confusion in her tone.

"Hel—"

"HA!" He startled her, cutting off her next call out with a snowball to the shoulder. "Why you—" Her jaw dropped as she let out a scoff quickly before bundling her sweater sleeve together and scooping a ball of snow of her own with her makeshift "glove."

"HEY!" Ollie tried blocking the snowball but she was quick to throw it. "You started it!" She laughed, going in for another snowball as he did the same.

Going back and forth as they got colder and colder, the duo laughed while battling it out with one snowball after the other. Soon, one of Devyn's hit him straight in the nose and within seconds, Ollie dropped everything to begin chasing after her, squeals of laughing excitement escaping her lips.

"GET BACK HERE—" He laughed as they struggled through the snow. Their only source of warmth being rooted from their active play.

"GET AWAY—" She retorted, nearly tripping on her own feet before he caught her from falling. "Got you!" He laughed, his hands snaking around her waist before lifting her with all his strength and tossing her over his shoulder once again.

"Oh my god—" Devyn began hitting his back. "Put me DOWN, you freak!" She complained.

"Nope!" Ollie laughed as he stood in place before loosening his grip around her, teasing to drop her.

"DONT YOU DARE DROP ME—" She squealed, gripping tightly onto the fabric of his sweater.

"And what if I DID—" He teased the movement once again, fearful squeals coming from her in result.
