Kristen's POV

Several days had gone by, and I was slowly losing hope. Was I ever going to get away from this place of horror? It was sort of an exaggeration to call it a place of horror, I knew, but to be fair, they did kidnap me. Or at least he did. I didn't know whose side Sarah was on, as she did get somewhat mad at Emanaul when she found out he had taken me. But she hadn't tried the slightest to help me escape.

A groggy groan left my lips as I turned in the bed. The soft duvet was softly sliding against my body and light from the sun caressed my warm skin. The birds of the wood were quietly singing me awake. I would love living here, to be honest, if it weren't for these people and what they did to me.

Nothing had really happened since Emanual punched the wall, which still had my heart beating fast. I spent most of my time in the bedroom I slept in. Observing the beautiful nature, that was just on the other side of the window and lying in bed were all I did, really. Most of the nights were sleepless. My eyelids only started feeling heavy as the sun came up, creating a terribly exhausting sleeping pattern.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts and I tightened the duvet around my body.

"Come in," I called, quickly combing my fingers through my hair.

The door opened, revealing a smiling Emanual. His deep eyes were bright and kind, not like last time my eyes had met his. I hadn't seen him since he created a dent in the wall with his bare hand, which still sent shivers down my spine.

"Hey," he smiled, walking closer to the kingsized bed. I nodded, not trusting my own voice.

"How are you feeling?" He asked me and sat on the bed, beside my feet. Something in me was going crazy over the fact that he was so close. What weirded me out was that I wanted him even closer. I wanted to feel the sparks and warmth of his skin against mine.

I must be going insane. Or maybe I was running a fever.

"I'm okay, I guess." My eyes left his and I brought my focus to my hands. My teeth dug down in my lower lip; I should have asked how he was too. Now I just seemed rude. I quickly let go of the thought, I shouldn't worry about seeming rude in front of my kidnapper. He deserved it.

My heart didn't seem to agree though, as I could feel relief and happiness wash over me as soon as I heard his smooth voice again.

"Umm, do you want to go out with me tonight?" He asked and a small blush appeared on his cheeks. I had never seen him embarrassed like that, he looked so vulnerable. What really surprised me, though, was his question. He wanted to go on date with me, like normal people. Our relationship was far from normal.

A chuckle of puzzlement fought to be let out, but I shut my lips tight. I didn't want to offend or provoke him into destroying the whole house.

"I know, it's weird. Just be dressed and ready at six," he held a brief break, his eyes flickering to the duvet around my torso. He bit his lip before looking up at me again.

"Please." He finished.

Quickly, he lifted himself off the bed and walked out. My eyes followed him as he left, and they stayed locked to the door.

Did he just ask me out?

"You look great, Kristen." I was met with Calvin's voice when I trudged down the stairs. His brown eyes shined at me, and I couldn't help but let a small smile break onto my face.

I had ended up wearing a blue shirt and black skinny jeans, deciding not to dress up. I honestly didn't see a reason to. First of all, this wasn't a date. And second of all, he was my kidnapper. It was sick enough that he had kidnapped me, ripped my away from my freedom and locked me into a weird house in the middle of the woods. I was not going to try to look for anyone here, especially not him. He did not deserve that.

The more my mind stayed on that thought, the angrier I got, so I tried my best to shake it off. I had to keep my cool, otherwise I would never get away from this place.

"Thank you." I softly muttered, avoiding meeting his gaze, which I could clearly feel on my body. Something about him was off, and it was making me feel more uncomfortable than I was already feeling.

"So, how are you?" He smiled at me and scratched the back of his neck. He looked absolutely gorgeous, but sadly, compared to Emanual he was nothing. The pull that man had on me was freakish, but I somehow liked it.

"Not great. I want to go home." I stated the obvious and crossed my arms over my body.

"I know." He nodded, moving closer to me.

"You must feel terrible. What he did is not okay. Trust me, if I were him, I'd let you go." He was trying to sound reassuring and comforting, but his tone only added to my discomfort. I slowly nodded, tightening my arms around my torso.

"Yeah..." I trailed off and creased my forehead, wanting to get out of this creepy, awkward situation. Luck wasn't on my side, as he moved even closer to me. He hovered his hand over my cheek and I held my breath. What was he doing? Soundlessly, he pinched a lock of my hair, which had fallen in front of my face. I tensed as he pulled it back behind my ear. I could feel his hot breath hit my cheek. I watched in horror as he slowly moved his head even closer, creating almost no gap between us.

"Umm, what are yo-" Calvin prevented me from finishing my sentence with a long shush. That was when my mind finally started to react and I immediately slammed my palms against his chest. He stumbled back and I stepped further away from him.

"Stop doing that!" I widened my eyes in surprise and anger. What was the deal with this guy?

"Kristen, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." I squinted my eyes at him, contemplating if he was being honest or not.

"Please, don't tell Emanual." He tried to walk closer, but almost instantly backed away when he saw the anger in my eyes intensify.

"I won't do it again, okay? Just promise you won't tell Emanual. He'll kill me." He begged me, a frantic look in his eyes.

I barely got time to nod, before the front door opened and heavy footsteps sounded. The discomfort from just before quickly vanished as soon as Emanual came into view. He was dressed in a black shirt with a dark grey jacket, looking completely mouthwatering. My eyes wandered over his perfect features, blood rushing to my cheeks. He looked like he had just finished a photoshoot.

"Ready to go?" He asked me, a small smirk on his face, which only added to my embarrassment. I nodded, happy to leave the creepy encounter with Calvin behind.
