Goku (known as Kakkarot in this story) is turning 18 soon. That is the age Saiyans mate. His parents, Tora and Bardock, want him to mate with Yamcha, but Kakkarot doesn't want to. He finds Broly and falls in love with him. He isn't allowed to. Because Broly wasn't normal.
