****King Mitch is Xavier's Uncle****

Layla Cortdale

"Layla?" My dad said confusedly

"What are you doing here?" He asked

"W-well umm, y-yo-you s-see-"

I was in the middle of trying to lie to my dad, but it was so hard, I hate lying to my dad, thankfully Xavier came up to us and put a hand on my shoulder, immediately sparks were shooting through the shoulder he was touching

"She got lost, so she asked me how to go back" Xavier calmly said

"But that doesn't explain why she was running out of your office like she was about to get murdered" Dad eyed Xavier suspiciously while grabbing my arm and taking me by his side

I saw Xavier clench his jaws

"I saw a spider, but not just any spider, but daddy long legs!" I lied

"Really?" dad asked in a bored tone

"Dad, it was huge!" I exaggerated

"Wait, dad, what are you doing here?" I asked him

"Well, I came to tell king Xavier that we'll be leaving tommorow morning"

"What?!" Both me and Xavier said at the same time

We looked at each other for a quick second, then I looked away first

"But dad, we just got here" I said

"Yes, why leaving so soon?" Xavier asked

"After what just happened, I don't want Layla to be in danger and I left my mate at home, I need to know if shes alright. I may be an alpha, but being a dad and a husband is more important, so my child's and mate's safety comes first. I'm sure when you and your mate have children, you'll feel the same way." Dad said while looking at me and hugging me

I hugged him back and snuggled closer into his chest. Xavier cleared his throat

"Okay you can leave tommorow, but you must attend the meeting tonight" Xavier said, he looked at me and turned around and walked into his office, I didn't want Xavier to go, i wanted to stay with him just a little longer, my heart felt hollow without him and my wolf howled sorrowfully

"Okay, go upstairs and start packing your bags" dad said

"Okay" I said

"Meet me in the main room at 6"

I nodded my head and started walking away, I reached my room in 5 minutes and closed my door. I started packing the things that I don't really use, like my laptop and headphones, but then I stopped and wondered, where was Kingsley? I took my phone out from my back pocket and saw I had like 20 messages from Kingsley and a recent missed call from Xavier. I texted Kingsley, asking him where he was, then called Xavier, after the second ring, he picked up

"Layla" he answered huskily

I involuntary shivered,"Xavier" I breathed out

"Why do you have to leave tommorow?" He desperately asked "I wanted you to stay longer"he said

I mentally awed and smiled, he's so sweet, I thought to myself

"I wanted to spend sometime with you, but think about, it'll be like Romeo and Juliet, but take out the tragic ending and the rivalry between two families"

"So basically, its just us sneaking around trying to see each other without being caught" he said chuckling

"Exactly" I said
