"it's not just that she could still be alive." stiles explained to her father.

"it's that she would've had to fake her death." lydia said.

"your grandmother, lorraine martin, faked her death?" noah asked.

"definitely." stiles said.

"maybe." lydia said.

"more then likely, yes." stiles said.

"oh, i'm guessing you got a story to back this up?" stiles' father asked.

"she might be helping the benefactor." lydia said.

"or she might be the benefactor." skylar said.

"that sounds like a story worth hearing." the sheriff said as he went to close his door.

once he heard the rest, he opened his door.

"anybody seen parrish? haigh?" he asked another deputy.

"haven't seen him." he replied.

they heard gunshots and stiles' father pulled out his gun.

"hey. hey!" he shouted.

haigh pulled the trigger and shot noah in the shoulder making lydia let out a scream.

stiles and skylar went to help him. all they saw was a burnt parrish punching the other deputy.

scott, lydia and skylar took parrish to derek's to see if he could figure out what he was.

"he covered you in gasoline?" derek asked him and he nodded.

"it's the hair and nails, isn't it? the parts of the body that are essentially dead." lydia said.

"well, they should be gone." derek replied.

"i was set on fire. all of me should be gone." parrish spoke up.

"not if you're like us." scott said.

"like you?" parrish asked.

"i don't think he's like us." derek said.

"then what is he?" skylar asked.

"sorry, but i have no idea." derek replied.

"but you knew about jackson and kira." scott reminded him.

"this is a little out of my experience. there might be something in the bestiary. did you try argent?" derek asked.
