Adithi's POV-

I stood up to clap for my husband.

Shub's 36th ODI century. I couldn't be more proud of him.

He kneeled down, and touched his forehead to the ground.

He stood up and blew a kiss in my direction, and kept his helmet under his shirt, and blew another kiss in my direction.

Touching my baby bump, I smiled.

I was 8 months pregnant.

I sat back on my seat, and enjoyed watching my husband bat.

----

Shub came out of the washroom after taking a long shower.

India won the series against Australia.

Shubman Gill was the 'Man Of the Series' yet again.

He sat beside me on the couch, and pecked my lips.

"I'm so proud of you." I whispered, kissing his cheek.

He smiled, showing off his dimples, and pecked my lips again.

'That's nothing compared to what you're giving me." He said, keeping his hand on my baby bump.

I chuckled.

"Have you thought of any names?" I asked.

"Well, yeah-"  I cut him off.

"I hope they're good." I joked.

He rolled his eyes and continued.

"If it's a girl, then Shivani, if a boy, then Arnav."

"Nice. I didn't expect you to come up with such good names." I laughed.

He glared at me, before chuckling himself.

"Yeah, and I didn't expect you to turn into a hippo during pregnancy." He said.

I stopped laughing and looked at him.

This time, he was the one laughing, and I was glaring at him.

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes.

"Awwww. Baby ko bura laga?" He chuckled.

"Ji haan. Baby ko bohot bura laga." I smiled.

"Uh... not this baby. I was talking about this baby." He said, pointing at my stomach.

"Baby aapko bura laga?" He asked my stomach, with a smirk.

"Yes dad. Bohot bura laga. You can't call mom a hippo." I answered.

"Well, she's a cute hippo." He whispered.

"A hippo is a hippo. Cute makes no difference." I said.

Before he could say anything, I opened my mouth.

"I want ice cream."

My pregnancy hormones kicked in.

"Fucking pregnancy hormones." Shub hissed.

"Hey! Shut up. The child wants ice cream."

"Just a minute." He kissed my forehead, and got up from the couch.

He got my favourite chocolate chip ice cream.

Before he could hand the tub over to me, I snatched it from him, and dug my fingers in.

"Yuck Adithi." Shub said, making a disgusting face.

"Shut up." I glared at him.

He handed me a spoon while laughing at me.

I chucked the spoon back at him, and continued eating my ice cream.

I suddenly dropped the tub, and clutched my stomach, as a scream escaped my mouth.

"Aaaahhhh!"

There was a sharp pain in my stomach.

"Adithi, are you fine?" Shub asked me, while holding me tightly.

I felt giddy.

My vision was blurry.

I didn't know what was happening.

Soon enough, I was surrounded by darkness.

Shubman's POV-

Adithi was in the delivery room.

The doctor informed me that there were some complications with her pregnancy.

I was too scared.

Neither did I want to lose Adithi, nor did I want to lose my child.

I saw the doctor coming out of the room, and in my direction.

I rushed to him.

"Dr. Mehra, how's Adithi?" I asked him.

"There are too many complications, sir. I cannot say anythi-" Before he could complete his sentence, another doctor rushed in our direction.

"Doctor." She stated looking into his eyes.

It was as if they were communicating through eyes.

Dr. Mehra touched his forehead, and looked at me.

"Sir, we're sorry, but you need to make a decision now." He said.

I looked at him, confused.

The next thing he said, turned my world upside down.

"Sir, if we try to save both of them, then both their lives are in danger." He spoke, taking me off guard.

"What're you saying?" I asked, totally baffled.

"We can save only of them. It's either ma'am, or the child."

****

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry! I've been really busy lately, and I just didn't get the time to update.

By the way, the next chapter will be the last one.

Yeah, the book is about to end. Lol.

Anyways, speaking about this chapter, how was it?

Vote, please. ❤
