“Izzy, can I talk to you for a second?”, Alec asked his sister.

“What is it, big brother?”, Izzy smiled.

Alec looked around the room but as no one was listening he sighed.

“It’s about Magnus.”, he admitted.

Izzy raised her gaze from one of the monitors and watched him concerned.

“Is something wrong?”, she asked.

Alec shrugged his shoulders.

“I don’t know. He is acting weird, but he says he is fine.”, he told her.

Izzy knitted her brows.

“Since when?”, she asked.

Alec sighed.

“Since the battle with Lilith.”, he explained. “I don’t know what it is. He’s been sad before, he’s been mad before, but this is different. I don’t know how to describe it. I’ve never seen him like this before.”

Izzy narrowed her eyes.

“Have you tried talking to him?”, she asked puzzled.

Alec nodded.

“He won’t talk to me.”, he sighed.

Izzy thoughtfully scratched her chin.

“Maybe he is …”, she started but stopped as the alarm of the institute set off.

Alec raised his head and watched the red blinking ceiling. He changed a look with Izzy and stormed out of the room.

He entered the lobby.

“What happened?”, he asked loudly.

“We don’t know.”, Underhill told him.

Alec shot him a questioning look.

“What? Why?”, he asked.

Underhill tapped on a monitor.

“Nothing happened, but the alarm won’t stop.”, he explained.

“Step aside.”, Izzy ordered and took over the screen.

Alec watched her curious.

“It’s something with the wards.”, his sister explained. “We’ll ne a warlock to resolve that issue.”

Alec took out his phone.

“Can you at least mute it?”, he asked annoyed.

Izzy shot him an angry gaze.

“I do as much as I can!”, she snapped.

Alec sighed.

“I’ll call Magnus.”
