I ran as fast as I could away from that room. That room where my best friend, who was also the boy I was in love with, was making out with some girl. Some random girl who just decided she was going to attach her face to his. I couldn't bare to watch. Hearing about it was one thing, but seeing it was something totally different. I broke.

The tears were terrible. They were welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision, making it nearly impossible for me to see. I tripped a few times, ripping the skin off of my knees and the palms of my hands. I wiped the back of my hand over my eyes, clearing my vision somewhat, and shoved myself up off the floor. I continued running, wanting to get as far away from that girl as I could.

Sobs tore through me, and escaped from my throat as I ran, making it hard to breathe. I was hit in the face with hot air, as I shoved the door out of my way, and emerged into the hot night. The humidity was so thick it was like I was being choked. Between the humidity, my choking sobs, and the fact that I was running, it was almost impossible to get air to my lungs.

I began hyperventilating, freaking out because I couldn't breathe, which did not help matters any. A sheen of sweat broke out all over my body. It dripped down my neck and face, mixing with the tears. My palms were slick, and my whole body felt like it was on fire. I tripped again, ripping even more skin off. My muscles locked, and I began shaking violently.

I felt my stomach churning, and I had barely climbed to my feet when it lurched, and I was doubled over, everything in my stomach coming back out. I managed to get a few feet away from the half way digested food that I had just regurgitated, before falling again. I pressed my face against the pavement.

The world around me flickered in and out of focus, as I drifted in and out of conciousness. I could feel myself fighting, pushing against the blackness that was calling my name over and over again.

"Amber?" I heard someone call into the night. I'm here! I wanted to yell, but no words would come out. I could feel my lips trying to shape the words that were on the tip of my tounge, but they refused to come out.

"Amberlynn!" Worry and panic seeped into the voice, telling me they had found me. The sounds of footsteps filled my ears, and then stopped as the person reached me and dropped to their knees. "Amber, are you okay?" I can't breathe. I wanted to say. Please help me! I cried in my head. "Amberlynn, please!" My face left the pavement, and was placed on the soft fabric of the person's pants. "Amber, please!" The tears continued leaking from my eyes. "Somebody help me!" The voice yelled. I could tell the person was crying.

It felt like my lungs were being set on fire. I could feel everything getting hazier and hazier as my lungs begged for oxygen. I just couldn't seem to answer my body's pleads for air.

I looked up into the person's eyes before I gave into the pull, and my world went black.

The five of us sat in the waiting room of the hospital where Amberlynn had just been rushed. My heart stopped beating when I saw her lying on the gurney under the bright lights of the hospital. Her face was ghostly pale, and her chest wasn't moving up and down like it should have been.

An oxygen mask was placed over her face, and someone was doing chest compressions on her as they whelled her quickly in to the E.R. We all ran behind the people pushing her stretcher. Firm hands pushed against my chest, stopping me as I tried to follow her, and the door slammed in my face.
