I sprung into action my battle reflex's taking over as I uncapped Riptide and swung it with practised ease above my head as I charged toward Half-Blood Hill where the battle was still outgoing. Nico ran beside me his black sword made of celestial bronze swinging in his hip sheath as he managed to keep pace with my fast sprint, even with his short legs

"We need a plan of attack" Nico shouts over to me just as he stabs another Hellhound in the chest and it explodes into a powdery gold dust

"When has that ever worked for us" I shout back

I heard Nico's laugh echo as we ran closer to the hill, the last of my friends were fighting bravely scars littering their bodies gunk and mud on their faces mixed with bruising and scrapes, the metallic smell of blood and ichor burnt my nostrils but I kept moving forward until I met  with the rest of the group at the front line and as soon as Will saw Nico his stiff position relaxes and for a split second a smile reaches his eyes as he fires yet another arrow

"Good to see you haven't turned into a shadow yet Sunshine" Will teased his tone light despite knowing what was ahead of his

Nico twisted his body and freed his sword from a giant who currently had hold of it before stabbing him in the stomach, therefore, making the giant explode in gold dust while I stabbed another Hellhound in the back before it could get any closer to the barrier that protects camp. Finally, Nico replied, "You think you can get rid of me that easily Solace?" He had a hint of a smirk hidden in the corner of his face

I could hear Will chuckle in the background as he shakes his shaggy blond locks and whispers "Never" to Nico and I spin around to face towards two blushing boys and I rub my temple "Could the flirting possible wait till after the attack?" I demand

They two blushed furiously and it reminded me of the time I was caught with Annabeth by the other campers. Stop. I tell myself as I try to push it to the back of my mind and instead focus on the swarms of incoming monsters

It took a few hours of slashing and stabbing to get the attack under control and safe around the camp but eventually, we manage although it came with a heavy cost as we were all pretty exhausted from fighting so many monsters and felt unable to move

I collapse on the grass on the hill, completely drained of all energy and I look up at the sun residing in the sky and finally think, why did the attack happen? and why did Tartarus kidnap Annabeth's soul? He was going to pay for that by the way, if Annabeth's soul hadn't done anything to hurt him by the time I got round to it that is

Sitting up I rub my temple if I was going to find out what happened to Annabeth's soul it looked like I was going to have to pay a visit to my Dad and Uncle's again just what I needed when I have mortals kidnapping and interrogating me and now I have to add Godly drama to that too? Great! Just great.

But that's what I have to do. For Annabeth. I owe her that much

"Nico I need you to take me to Olympus" I call over to where he was face down in the grass, at the sound of my command he turns his head to face mine and lets out a tired groan as his eyes shut once again

"I don't think I have enough energy to get you there Perce," He tells me and I sigh

"Please, please take me to Olympus I promise you don't have to stay and you can come back here to rest afterwards I just need to find out what the situation is with Annabeth. You promised me answers and now I need to get them" I beg to him standing up, my tone was broken and desperate

I needed to find out what happened to Annabeth

After what feels like hours Nico finally answers "Fine I'll take you but don't expect me to stay" He gives me a pointed look and I nod not wanting to push it because it was a small miracle that I had got him to agree to take me so quickly

I walk over to him with a slight limp I ended up in a battle against Kelli, my old friend and she ended up scratching my leg before I vaporised her into golden powder and I haven't had a chance to go by water yet (however by the way I left I doubt my Dad would do me a solid) and I haven't had ambrosia yet either

Latching myself onto his shoulders, we step into the shadows and for a moment my ears ring and head spin but I had got to Shadow travel after all these years but the effects are still there they just last for a shorter space of time since I had learned to control myself when Shadow travelling

We arrive in the shadows of the lobby for the Empire State Building and I find myself shaking as I walk over to the man manning the reception desk, with shrunk confidence I walk over to him and say "Keys to the 6ooth floor please"

The man raises an eyebrow in suspicion but doesn't look up from the newspaper he was reading and with every passing second that he doesn't look up, I feel my patience thinning and finally I snap taking Riptide out of my pocket and uncap it before slamming it onto the desk causing a dent and making the man lookup

"Here are the keys" He starts off by saying "Just don't kill me"

I grasp the keys in one hand and take a shaky breath, it's time to go home.
