I couldn't believe my ears.

Omar had dream anxiety disorder?

I remembered last night how Omar was in nightmare. Was it because of this illness?

"Actually, to start with, Omar has . . . Personeidetic memory . . ."

"Really?" I exclaimed. "That's cool."

"It is. Personeidetic memory usually refers to the ability to view memories like photographs and yeah, it is cool but it also means that if you have that type of memory, you are going to remember every single details of the things you see and it is most likely you cannot forget what you see, even if it means you see something bad," she explained.

I nodded. I remembered what happened last night with Omar. "Was Omar involved in something . . . I mean, did he went through . . ."

She nodded, sadly. "Back when we were small, you remember I told you that you were very close to Omar?"

I nodded.

"Yeah, so when you had the accident . . . Omar went to the hospital to see you and literally he saw you covered in blood in the hospital bed. Omar was only 7 years old that time so he couldn't calm himself. He saw you in a pool of blood where doctors were trying to take you to the operation room. That memory . . . Omar still remembers it . . ."

I felt my heart squeezed. Memories of what Omar said last night ran to my brain.

I saw you, Yumna. You were lying on the hospital bed with blood . . .

I didn't know how to react. Omar remembered all that?

"Not only that," Emily said. "Remember, Yumna, I told you how I was kidnapped and shot? Omar remembers all that as well. In front of Omar, I got shot. He still remembers it and he blames him for it."

Omar blamed himself?

"But it wasn't his fault-"

"Omar thinks that he should have been stronger in order to save me," she said. "Omar was very small that time, Yumna. Even I don't remember i properly but Omar remembers it with every detials."

I nodded.

Having personeidetic memory did had a harsh side.

"And then, a year letter after your car accident, Yumna, our grandma got burned . . ." She paused as I saw a tear slipped down her eyes.

My eyes wided. "Your grandma got burned? What are you saying, Emily? I mean . . ."

"Omar went to grandma's house alone and mom and dad send him there so he could relax since grandma was the closest to him. But then this one night," she said as her voice cracked. "Omar went to shopping mall alone and when he came back, he saw the house burning and grandma was inside the house . . ." She didn't needed to say more.

I threw my arms around her and hugged her.

She hugged me tightly as she broke down into tears. "Omar saw our grandma getting burned there, Yumna. He faced it all alone . . ."

I couldn't help but to feel my own tears rolling down my eyes. I knew Omar had a bad past . . . But I didn't know it was that it was this bad . . .

Omar was so small that time. I didn't even know how he faced all these alone. Having personeidetic memory, he remembered everything in details. He saw me in blood, he saw Emily getting shot and then he saw his own grandma burning . . .

I let more tears rolling down my eyes.

How could a person suffer this much? And Omar was just a child then. Omar suffered this all alone?

Emily pulled away from the hug. I whipped her tears away.

"Omar went though a lot of therapies to get out of depression and anxiety. He used to get constant nightmares," Emily said. "Until one day. It was like one day he just put his emotionless face to block all his emotions. Doctor put him in sleeping pills so that he could be in deep sleep and wouldn't get nightmares."

I nodded.

That's why Omar had nightmare yestersay because he forgot to take his medicine.

We heard the washroom door unlocking.

Emily and I quickly whipped our tears as we saw Omar coming out of the washroom, wearing his pajama and t - shirt. He looked at Emily and then at me. He looked confused for a while and then said, "I am going to prayer room."

We nodded as he left the room.

I did not know what to do. Omar acted all the time how strong and dump and stupid he was. But, I never knew behind the jerk face, there was a broken past that hunted him for years.

"I . . . Should got to the prayer room as well for the Fajr salah," she said, trying to act normal.

I nodded. "I will take a shower and get ready for Fajr."

She nodded but before she got out of the bed, she hugged me. "Yumna, can you premise me one thing?"

I nodded as I hugged her back.

She pulled away from the hug and looked at me. "I know, Omar is a jerk but please, give me one chance. Omar lost everything that he loved which is why gets scared to claimed anything he loves, but I know that if there is any girl he wants to spend his rest of his life with, it is you."

I looked at her. Was what she said was true . . .

"I know Omar doesn't show it, but, give him sometime, Yumna," she said. "Omar just needs sometime to make you understand how much you mean to him."

I didn't say anything. I wasn't sure if I wanted Omar to like me. This marriage wasn't based on love, after all. But, there was something in my heart about Omar that wanted me to care for him. But, I just couldn't name that feeling . . .

Emily smiled. "I will see you in the prayer room for the Fajr Salah."

I nodded and saw her getting off the bed and leaving the room.
