Seven days had passed since Uncle Peter had laid down the "Freedom From Religion" law. Grandpa Kevin told him four people had expressed "extreme dissatisfaction" with the law. Uncle Peter requested their names.

"For obvious reasons, they want to stay anonymous," he answered.

"Well, then," jeered Uncle Peter. "Tell these four brave souls they should pray to their god for me to change my mind. If it doesn't work, then that proves their god does not exist, and they should shut the fuck up."

Grandpa Kevin smiled. "Do you really want me to say that?"

"Yes. Word for word. I'll write it down if you like."

Grandpa Kevin chuckled. "Not necessary."

"Can I assume Jeannie was among the four?"

"No, you can't. Jeannie has said nothing to me. She has been like a ghost in this house. According to Beth, she spends almost all of her time in her room, hardly speaking to anyone."

"Fine by me. Eventually, she'll learn there are other things to talk about besides Jesus."
