"I don't even know what this means." Sebastian whispers and I shrug. "I don't want anyone knowing she was first born." He admits and I look down at her sleeping peacefully.

If anyone finds out she's a future alpha outside of this pack, they'll notify the council. They'll keep a heavy eye on us and everything we do which is the last thing I want when raising a child.

I can't let anything happen to her.

I look up at him and he takes a quick glance at Piper who is checking my vitals.

"Piper, can I trust you?" He asks and she nods.

"She's the rightful heir to the pack, but I'm not going to put her life in danger. Milo is just Milo until you guys are to say anything."

"Thank you Piper." I whisper and she nods before leaving the room.

"Are we making the right choice?"

"We're making a choice that we have to make." He reminds me.

I've quickly learned over the past few months that sometimes the choices you make aren't because you want to make them. They are made because you have to make them.

"On a happier note, everyone seems to love her." I add with a small laugh.

"Yeah considering I think Logan has some weird bond to our daughter." He cringes and I take a deep breath.

"I mean maybe he knows something we don't. Maybe he's got some sixth sense and he just wants to protect her." I try to rationalize the way he looked at her earlier.

I worried when I first saw it, but there isn't a reason to be. Mainly because that's how Logan is with everyone he loves. He goes the extra mile to protect everyone he cares about. It's one of his greatest qualities and what makes him such an incredible beta.

"As long as he isn't her mate we're fine."

"We all know who his mate is." I roll my eyes.

How hasn't he noticed?

"Who?"

Oh he really hasn't noticed. I thought I was on to something.

"Michelle."

"My sister?" He asks in disgust and I nod while readjusting my posture. "No way. He would've known if she was his mate."

"No not necessarily. Not when she's still young and her wolf isn't fully developed. I see the way she looks at him."

I love watching them interact. I see the way he treats her and the way she treats him. He cares about her and that night of the incident he just wanted to make sure she was okay.

It's either they are mates or I don't know when the guy will find his perfect match.

"You've gotta be kidding me." He groans and I nod in agreement. "I always knew I'd get stuck with his dumbass being part of the family."

"At least it's not Garrett." I remind him and he stands up with Milo in his arms. "I mean maybe I'm wrong, but it's possible. I'd like to think Logan has a mate somewhere."

I watch as Bash walks around the room staring in awe of the sleeping girl and it brings joy to my once panicked mind.

"You seem awfully excited."

"Cause I always wanted a son, but there's something about knowing that she's gonna be just as strong and capable that makes me feel even happier. I've always wanted a kid to teach how to ride a bike or play baseball. Someone to teach and do good for."

"I mean you're gonna teach your daughter those things as well, you didn't lose anything by having a daughter." I remind him and he nods.

"It's because I didn't think I'd ever have a daughter. I thought we'd have one kid and that I'd just have sons."

"Well you do have one and she's beautiful and I'm sure she's gonna be a daddy's girl. She's gonna need her dad to protect her and raise her to be the best alpha she can be."

And that's when I think it finally hits him.

"Yeah I know. I didn't think I'd be in charge of raising the girl who the prophecy's talk about though. I'm the current alpha and it's my job to raise her to be the next alpha. I can't fuck this up."

"You aren't going to mess this up. You're gonna be the best alpha possible and you're gonna raise Milo with me."

"I just don't wanna be a crappy father. My dad did such a good job and I wanna live up to that." He says with a shaky voice and it makes my heart melt at how much he wants to be perfect. It makes me feel like everything will work out and that the two of us can do this even if it seems impossible.

"I think we're getting ahead of ourselves. Our daughter will be fine and you'll be an amazing father."
