"How long are you planning on being gone?" I ask Sebastian.

He hasn't told me anything, but I have a feeling somethings wrong. Garrett hasn't been around in about a week and that's enough to raise my suspicion. Not to mention Bash has been in this office for quite some time these past few days

"What are you talking about?" He shakes his head and I step further into the office.

"Ashley and Tommy are watching Milo upstairs, so why don't we talk like adults." I shut the door and he takes a deep breath.

"Also how long will you be gone for?"

"Jenifer, it's not like that this time." He hands me an already open envelope and I feel something I've never felt before.

"What is this?" I feel my hands start to shake slightly and he nods motioning for me to open it.

"If this is about Milo, I don't wanna open it Bastian."

"Jen."

"Bastian if this letter says they know about Milo, I don't know what I'm going to do."

"They'll be here in a few days with Garrett."

What.

"Why do you they have Garrett and what do they think they're doing showing up on our land." I raise my voice slightly and he stands up and points to the map behind him

"I have to bargain with him to give me Garrett back. They have him, and they caught him leaving one day to go do business in Vancouver on this road. They know he's not a wolf and they want to know how he knows about us."

"And they're coming here?"

"They're asking questions and they want answers from not just me. They want answers from the twins, my sisters, anyone and everyone."

"And what are we supposed to do about Milo? If they come here they're gonna want to see her."

"That's the other thing. I'm not leaving for a few days, you are." He crosses his arms over his chest as he leans against his desk and I feel the tears coming to my eyes.

"You're gonna go to the apartment and hide out for a little while. It's no big deal baby, just think of it as a vacation. A little girl's trip." He chokes on his words slightly and I shake my head again.

"They're not coming for another week, but you need to go now. Eden is gonna be with you and you're just gonna live normally until I can call you."

"Sebastian what's going to happen when I'm gone? Why are you so worried?"

"I can't talk about it right now Jen, please just go pack your bag and trust me this time. I don't want to make this decision but you and Milo are my top priority."

"But you're sure sending me with a human is good protection?"

"Don't play dumb Jen. I have four warriors following your every move at all times ready to protect you. They'll be there to protect you too, you just won't know." He hands me a set of keys and I want nothing more than to slap him.

"You're the love of my life, I would never put you or Milo in danger. Please just trust me."

Trust him?

I should trust the man I love right?
I should trust the man whose ran this pack for the past seven years and the father of my child right?
I should trust him and I do, but I don't want to believe that this is the only option.

There has to be another way to protect our family beside sending us off and hiding us.

"Please Jen, don't make this harder for me. Eden already knows and is at the apartment in Vancouver waiting for you to get there. You're gonna drive my car there with Milo and I'll have people watching over you until you get there. It's gonna be okay. I promise that the second this is handled I will be there to come get you and Milo."
