Chapter 38 Broken again

Ashton was with a lady.  And they were kissing!

"Ella Ella, are you okay? You look like you have seen a ghost" he followed my gaze when I couldn't form any words.

one look at me and he knew it was my boss.

"Your boss? He said with confusion Lining his voice.  "- He is the one!" he scowls making his way towards their table.

"I will fucking kill him" he yelled attracting the attention of everyone including Ashton and his... What are they? 

"Consider this as me fulfilling one of your three favors Ella," Eddie said raising his fist to hit Ashton.

"No! not now, and that is my favor Eddie," I yelled standing in front of him and blocking Ashton from the interned murderous punch.

"Ella, please hear me out. It is not what you think. " I matched out of his sight before I could listen to further lies.

What is more to be said?

"Ella please I can explain."

"Try something different, I have heard that before" with that I was out of there. Walking around, not sure where I was going. All I knew was, I wanted to be away from all of these lies.

Why is life so cruel? What have I done to deserve all this? Was it a crime to trust people these days? All the people I trusted not to leave or hurt me have disappointed me. yet my foolish heart manages to trust people all over again.

I remove my phone to call Lena but remembered she was on a date with her new caught, and I didn't want to disturb her. I ruined her date before. But that was under different circumstances. Back then, James was my Boyfriend and I caught him cheating on me. But now I'm not so sure. Because Ashton was just my boss. Yesterday's night was probably one of his usual nights, where he just spends the night with any lady and forgets her the next morning, moving to his new object of interest.   Unfortunately, for me, I thought it meant something to not only me but both of us.  

A car honked at me but I kept on. My eyes blur with tears,  I couldn't make up whose car it was. Ashton's or Eddie's.

"Oh, dear. Come here," Lena cooed.

"Lena?" I was shocked

"Shhhh" she shushed pulling me for a hug. 

Just what I needed. I thought getting comfortable in the hug. 

"I'm so sorry Ella. You don't deserve this ." she tried to comfort me.

"Don't worry Lena. I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? We aren't even together. " though sad, it was the truth. We aren't together so I had no right to him or be hurt by what he chooses to do. At least he didn't make any promises.

By morning, the next day, which was a Friday, I have decided on what to do. And I ensured that Lena and Eddie realized that  I was really okay and they should stop worrying. Thankfully they bought the lie or they pretended to, because, none of them questioned my decision. And I was glad about that. 

I prepared for work.
