We pulled up at Riley's and I paused before opening the door. "I'd invite you back to my house but-"

"You don't think it's a good idea." He cut me off.

I shook my head no.

"What if I promise we'll just talk?"

"Thank you for the ride but I think you should go home. Good night Chris." I opened the passenger side door.

10 minutes after walking into my house my phone rang. It was probably Oliver. I had been ignoring his calls for over an hour.

I was surprised when I saw it was Chris.

"Hey." I answered.

"Hey. "

"Yes....."

"I'm calling you so we can talk."

"What?"

"You didn't want me to come because you couldn't trust me. So I'm proving to you I can just talk."

I laughed, "I trust you."

"Oh really? Why didn't you want me to come in then?"

I knew the reason was more because I didn't trust myself. But I didn't want to admit that to him.

"I have to work tomorrow."

"So? I've spent the night on nights you had to work the next morning. You can say you're not avoiding me but it's obvious you are."

"Is this what you want to talk about?" I turned my bedroom light on and kicked off my shoes.

"No. How was your day?"

"My day?" I had to smile, "It was good. I took Oliver to-" I stopped.

"You were with Oliver?"

"I took him to the airport then I spent the day with Riley."

"You and Oliver a thing?"

"No." I wasn't lying. I wasn't sure what Oliver and I were. "Let's not talk about him though."

"Fine with me."

"How was your day?" I asked.

"It was good. I read over some scripts and then went to the gym."

"Right, that's where you saw Joe."

"Exactly."

"Did you know I was going tonight?"

"I had a hunch."

I smiled. It was a little exhilarating, him pursing me.

We talked for 3 hours on the phone. I hadn't talked to a boy on the phone like that since high school. With a yawn I told him I had to get some sleep.

"Alright fine Davis." He huffed playfully.

"Thanks again for the ride home. Well to my car."

"Anytime. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok." I didn't want to hang up, but another yawn escaped my mouth.

"Get some sleep." He laughed.

"Night Chris."

"Night Harp."

On the way to work the next morning I finally called Oliver back.

"Hey! I got your text last night. I'm sorry I kept missing your calls." I cringed.

"It's ok. I was starting to worry though."
