She was a princess,
Living in a fairytale,
Where she was expected to wait years and years,
For a prince to save her from monsters,
But while all the other girls were dancing with the disguised demons,
She was out in the forests,
Running with the wolves,
And hunting with her dagger for a monster to chase,
She wanted to be free,
She didn't need rescuing.
But yet,
She kept her mouth shut and obeyed every rule,
She married a prince,
And taught her daughters everything her own mother taught her,
But it was only because,
In a twisted society like hers,
Following the rules is the only thing that can offer protection,
So the princess gave up her dreams and lived her life in delusion.
The truth was,
The prince was nothing put a phoney,
Looking out for a chance to display his counterfeit bravery,
The witch wasn't a villain,
She was once a princess too,
And she saw the cold truth of reality,
And decided that she didn't need saving after all.
But see what happens to the princesses who don't follow the rules of society?
If they don't listen to orders quitely,
Or if they don't act like princesses with propriety,
They are shunned or banished,
Turned into witches,
Locked away in solitude,
Until they are forced,
To see the world with hatred,
To surrender themselves into bitterness,
And to give up morality.
