Aftermath Chapter

[Note: My original plan was to make this as a special chapter, but the informations are too much connected to the main plot. So I made my own concept— an aftermath chapter. This would discuss the aftermath of the story. It will also serve as the opening of the second book (if ever). I'm not confirming that there would be a second book, but if ever there is, this chapter would be the opening or intro. Plus I want an open ending.]

Jae's Point of View

It has been almost three months when I had my last date. Yep, that was the movie date Lino and I shared.

Actually, that was also my first date. I had never dated anyone. May mga nagyayaya naman, pero sa huli nauuwi lang sa simpleng lunch sa canteen. And I never think of those as dates.

If you would ask me about us, I'm over it. Because from the very first start, there's no us.

Di ko kailangang mag move-on kung wala namang kailangang pagmove-on-an.

For the updates, Lino's still avoiding me. Di ko alam kung nasaktan din siya sa nangyari o nakokonsensya lang siya, or maybe both. Kaya kung ano man ang desisyon niya, nirerespeto ko yun.

It is now the time of the year when lights shine brighter than normal. When people smile with their heart's content. When happiness filled the air. It is now the month of christmas.

One breeze lingered on my skin as it slowly fades away and will replace by another breeze. I felt the coldness of the air as I walk on the streets of our neighborhood.

Pauwi na ko ngayon galing sa campus. Nagsimula ang christmas break kahapon. Some students choose to stay at their dorms, and celebrate christmas on their own, while other chose to go home— like me.

Para sa akin, mas masayang mag-celebrate kasama ang pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay.

Only one week left before thanksgiving day comes.

Sigurado akong magugulat sila mama pag nakita nila ako. Halos isang taon na din nung huli akong umuwi sa amin. Di ako umuuwi kapag semestral break, sa kadahilanang wala akong pamasahe.

Also, I did not tell anyone that I am finally coming home. I have two siblings, one big brother and a little one.

Since it's almost 9 o'clock, I'm sure that my mother is now at home, probably resting after a long time working. Same with my father.

It took me ten minutes of walk from the highway to here, before reaching our home sweet home.

Hindi ganon kalaki ang bahay namin, pero disente ito tingnan. Malalaki rin kasi ang mga bahay na katabi ng sa amin kaya nagmumukhang maliit ang tahanan namin.

I heaved a sigh of relief before knocking, cold air coming out my mouth

"Tao po," I said a I wait for my little brother to open the door. For sure, siya ang inutusan ni mama para buksan ang pinto.

I clutched on my bag as the door slowly opens. I really miss them.

"KUYA?!" Calvin shouted when he saw me. Shock filled his face.

Hindi pa siya nakakabawi sa gulat niya, nagsulputan na agad sila mama, papa, at kuya sa likod niya.

"JAE!" They shouted in unison.

"Gabi na, makabulabog pa kayo ng kapitbahay." Saway ko sakanila. Kaya naman dali-dali nila kong hinatak papasok ng bahay.

Pagpasok ko pa lang ng bahay sari-saring tanong agad ang binungad nila sa akin.
