THE NERDY BAD BOY
Chapter 13

Blaine's POV

This is my uncle and his new wife. Don't they look great together?
Rose and Lisa spent most of their time stuffing their faces and gossiping. But they still looked bomb.
Trace was looking so cool in his black suit. He looked like a secret spy.
Mark and Brian wanted to steal the spotlight in their matching white suits.
But they could never because I looked the best.

I was busy showing Liang, Paxton and Mathias pictures from the wedding. I had a lot of fun with my cousins and I almost forgot about my discovery about Maddox.
I couldn't believe he was pretending to be someone he is not. Was he fooling around with me? Was he just playing around with my feelings? Is he worse than Brad?
That last question gave me the chills and not in a good way.

I didnt just break up with Brad because he was a bully. The more I refused to sleep with him the more aggressive he got. I was afraid one day he might rape me at the rate in which he was going.
I'm very afraid of getting hurt. Both physically and emotionally. I'm a very sensitive person. What do I do about Maddox? Speaking of the devil him and his friends were heading our way.

Liang held hands with Tyler as they walked away. I couldn't help but fear for my dear Lulu. Mathias left with Leo. I heard Leo was the better one. He only fought when it was really necessary so I wasn't that scared for Mathias.

I turned to my boyfriend who was smiling down at me.
"I missed you. Tried calling you but I figured you were too busy with the wedding" he said as he tried to wrap his arm around my waist but I stepped back.
"Yeah...sorry about that...we were so busy with preparations and stuff" I said with a forced smile. Maddox has never given me a reason to be afraid of him but after finding out he was Phoenix I wasn't so sure anymore.
"Are you alright?" He asked taking a step closer to me and I took a step back.
"I'm great. Never better. I just need to do some stuff. Yeah. That's it. I need to do some stuff. See you later"  I said and left before he could respond.

As soon as I got to the library in a secluded corner I texted Liang and Mathias to meet me there ASAP. They were both there within 5 minutes. We had a free period and so I was not worried about missing classes.
"What's up Lain?" Liang asked.
"Is there a problem" Mathias asked.
"I found out something crazy this weekend about Maddox, Tyler and Leo" I said and they silently waited for my explaination. I told them exactly what my cousins had told me. And even showed them the pictures they sent me.

"...and so basically they are not really good. They are pretending to be good. They are the biggest trouble makers in town" I finally finished out of breath. They were both silent for a few seconds digesting the information.
"Makes sense" Liang said and I looked at him like he was crazy.
"Other than the fact that Tyler threatens every single person who looks at me when we are on a date with death, they all don't really look the part of quiet nerds" Liang explained.
"What?" I said in shock.

"Even the fact that Brad hasn't laid a finger on him. I found that very odd considering Brad beat up all your other love interests" Mathias said.
"Also how Brad's friends somehow strangely got beaten up by thugs the same day Maddox had a 'talk' with Brad" Liang added.
"And lets tell the truth Leo, Tyler and Maddox look like strong guys and not like the weak looking nerds we are used to. Maddox himself looks like he could lift a truck with those guns" Mathias said and I had to agree with that.

I had felt those arms wrap around me and on Friday I clearly saw his muscles when he took off his shirt. Damn he was hot and sexy. No normal nerd can look that good.
"But why would they keep that from us. They might be fooling us. I can't even look Maddox in the eye because I'm scared he will hurt me" I cried with a pout.
Shhhhhhhhh. We heard the librarian and I remembered we were in the library.
"Maddox would never hurt you Lain. He really likes you" Liang said but it didn't make me feel better.
"That's what they want us to believe. They got expelled from their last school for beating up some guys so bad they had to be sent to the hospital. How can a trust someone capable of doing that?" I said.

"They might have their reasons Lain. Maybe this is their way of starting a fresh and staying out of trouble. Let's not judge them because of their past" Mathias said and Liang agreed.
"I don't know guys. I just don't feel comfortable anymore" I admitted.
"I don't know about you Lain but I don't mind is Tyler is Breaker. I actually think the fact makes me like him more" Liang said.
"Same here. Now I know Leo is very capable of protecting me. He looks like the type who wouldn't hurt a fly" Mathias said.
"Lain talk to Maddox first before you make a rash decision.  That boy really likes you and he would never hurt you" Liang said and I just nodded in response.

I successfully avoided Maddox for most of the day. After school I was unlucky as he cornered me and asked me what's wrong and why I was avoiding him. I suggested we go to his house and talk. I regretted not bringing my car today which meant I would be stuck with him in his car.
"What's wrong Lain? Talk to me" he said as we sat in the lounge.
"Please...please take off your shirt" I said and he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"Well you could have bought me dinner first but anyway" he said as he stood up and took off his shirt.
"Please turn around?" This time Maddox stiffened at my question catching on.

"Lain..."
"Please turn Maddox" I cut him off. He sighed in defeat before turning around.
On Friday I was more focused on making out other than checking out his body.
How did I miss that big ass tattoo of a phoenix that goes all the way from his shoulder down his back. It was damn sexy and i...focus Lain. Stop admiring him.

"How did you find out?" Maddox asked breaking the silence.
"My cousins told me. You used to learn at the same school with them" I said.
"Lain I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I wanted to but I couldnt" he said as he turned around to face me.
"Why? So that you could fool me and then hurt me in the end" I said my eyes getting glassy.
"No baby. I would never hurt you. I was scared. I have a pretty bad reputation and I didn't want you to be afraid of me. I changed my ways and I don't want to cause trouble anymore. When I met you I became more determined to change" he said as he sat next to me and this time I didn't move away.

"Why?" I asked.
"Because I wanted to make myself good enough for you. I really like you Lain and I think...I think I'm in love with you because I have never felt this way before. I was afraid if you knew I was phoenix you would leave me and I couldn't handle that. I can't bear to lose you Lain" he said and I couldn't help but smile at his confession.
What was I thinking? Maddox might be phoenix but he would never hurt me.

"I love you too" I said as I blushed and he kissed me in response.
"I'm sorry for not being honest with you from the beginning. Tyler, Leo and I are just trying to lay low and stay out of trouble. Meeting you wasn't part of the plan but I'm glad you skipped into my script and changed the whole plot. I love you Blaine"  he said his lips a few inches from mine.
"I'm sorry for not trusting you and avoiding you today. I was confused but being with you right now makes so much sense right now. I love you Maddox"  I said and soon his lips were on mine.
